I’d find a new league. Just ban all spectators.
Wow ….. I am sure all the players will really remember all the wonderful heartfelt virtue signaling. This action truly provides some valuable insight to the socio political foundations of leadership in the league . If Jimmy and his mom are bothered by the Cheering when Johnny or Sara score …. No problem . No cheering for goals scored ….. Everybody Wins,Ties or Participates . Whatever ultimately helps Jimmy and his mom. I am certain that Jimmy will find that the actual world will also be as accommodating to his feelings ✅
Malaysian Sports & Youths’ Minister learned soccer from this video.
I don’t like my mom screams at me
That’s to everyone one of you moms
Fact: kids hate playing on the parents side
Wow. The anchor introducing the story is such a rude asshole. Probably not a good idea considering the topic.
I'm a referee… And have done it for a while. I've had a million problems with parents. Police even had to be called. But this is a little much.
It's the torturous parents who abuse there kids if they don't score goals..the ride home is hell..it's parents who don't understand the game and think you just kick the ball up the field and run to the ball..it's there kid and thier kid only..these are the parents who ruin it for everyone..alot of times the player is like the parents..
If you want to encourage your child encourage them to pass the ball and play the beautiful game correctly..making goals is the last thing kids should be thinking about…it's a team sport .9v9 11v 11..play as a team and the goals come naturally..parents are the problem with American soccer..
might as well tape the game stream it at a bar
This is goddamn stupid.
If you do this, you severely limit video content for you tube.
This kind of stuff contributes to why soccer remains a second class sport in America. Referees and soccer boards have become a group of overly sensitive pansies. Soccer is already a girls game (since most of the more athletic boys move onto football/baseball/basketball once they're older) and now they're just going to girlify it even more.
Be quiet? This rule is ridiculous.
wrong is impossible watch a game without cheering
Does this rule still apply or was it only for a few days/weeks?
Just don’t sign your kids up
For that league. No players, no crappy refs, no issues. Just don’t sign the kids up!!!
if person goes to England try watching game there
great idea, parents are pricks
No I won't sit and stay silent. I will cheer and support my kid so Keep politics out of kids soccer games. Adults you no better than to yell and fight anyways!!!
Parents have always been assholes. This is nothing new. So why now are referees quiting? Is it the snowflake mentallity? The everyone is a victim society that we now live in. Now in no way am I saying that the abuse that they take is justified or right. What I am saying, is that parents have been assholes at their kids games for decades. Why now???
To clarify so people do not feel this is a huge abuse of power or an overreaction. The rule said that the parents could not cheer/yell while the ball was in play (only).
When the ball was out of play (ex: scored), parents were allowed to cheer. This rule only applied to when the ball was in play. Great idea that was reported somewhat misleadingly.
Great rule. A lot of parents try and make it about them, they embarrasse their kids. They shouldn't have to worry about what their parents are going to say.
Complete overreaction by the "board"
As a former official, I can say that a large part of the problem is the officials.
I always talked to the coaches before the game and let them know that there was a good chance I would make calls that they wouldn't agree with and if i did, ask for time to discuss it with me and I would give them an explanation.
In the years I officiated, I only had to eject one coach for arguing. Common courtesy goes both ways and there are a lot of officials and umpires out there who let the whistle, striped shirt, and pitch counter go to their heads.
Deary ,me!
When I was at school, the rule was pretty strict – you could cheer on your team, but you weren't allowed to boo the referee or the opposition.
Why something common sense like that can't be put in place, instead of this silly rule – I don't know.
I give up.
That's some bullshit. So, I parent can't cheer on their child while they play? Yeah, we wouldn't want these kids to get an overdose of encouragement and confidence from their parents while they are playing.
Wow! I understand no jeering, but it's too bad you can't cheer anymore. I don't see anything wrong with a "way to go" or "attaboy/girl". Times are changing.
