  1. What you don't see is that Messi is international, he's adored all over the world. I would say not a lot of people in the US really knows what that means. Everybody with an iphone will watch the MLS from now on; people all over the world will wear the Inter Miami jersey. This goes beyond your wildest expectations. Do you think turning 1.2B down from the Saudis was crazy. Watch him double down.

  2. MLS should seriously start having talks with Conmebol to get invited into Libertadores and Sudamericana. It is the next step.

Bringing Messi is awesome, but making the League enter Higher Level competitions will show the World that not only they are bringing the best, but they are aiming to becoming the best as well.

Imagine LAFC vs Boca Juniors, NYFC vs Corinthians, Seattle Sounders vs River Plate.

And of course the implications of winning that competition means something else. MLS could dominate both Concacaf and Conmebol if they properly do this.

Imagine a Semifinal on the FIFA Club World Cup between 2 MLS teams with the chance of facing Real Madrid, Manchester City or Bayern Munich at the Final.

If ambitious enough. Messi's signing could be the beginning of this.

This would force other MLS teams to bring Messi caliber players. Not the GOAT. But definitely players that are amongst the best. Di Maria is a free agent, he may not be the GOAT but he's good enough to play at the GOAT's tier.

  3. The thing is the hype for Messi has trascended just MLS. Liga MX and the Central American Leagues are wishing that Inter Miami actually wins SIlverware, as it would also mean Messi would go to Mexico or Central America.

In fact the hype is so huge that even the President of Conmebol is looking for the option to create a Joint Concacaf-Conmebol Tournament.

Messi trascends the USA. His arrival not only hypes Inter Miami fans or MLS fans, it hypes everyone that loves football/soccer in the entire Hemisphere.

  4. If you want to take the next step, then you need to add 1 More DP slot. But unlike other DP slots, this one must be a World Class Player. I think MLS needs to this more consistently.

Instead of One Shock Move per Decade, make it 1 Shock Move per Season, or maybe More than One. And the hype for MLS will grow.

Sure, some will flop, but eventually MLS with their Research and Data will slowly start to consistently bring better and younger HIgh Class DPs, until the day finally happens.

An MLS team is fighting for the signing of a player against teams like Liverpool, PSG or Real Madrid that also want him on their squad.

When MLS is fighting for a player against the Top European teams, then you know MLS has reached that level.

  5. People are incredible. What it has cost MLS to bring players like Messi, Henry, Drogba, Zlatan, Ronnie, basically elite players just MLS is going viral, But Arabia with only one player (Cristiano Ronaldo) made the whole world and the press watch the Arab League. There is no comparison

  6. I wanted him to go to LA Galaxy or Seattle Sounders, Beckham probably has been pestering him for ages to join him before retirement but to refuse the millions from the Sauidi's to join the WORST MLS team is going to be entertaining, either the team gets good or the whole league will have fun destroying Messi`s team.

  7. My first ever in stadium post Covid is in qatar with Argentina. All those time I could start going to watch an NHL or NBA game, but I just donโ€™t find it exciting. At one point, I was convinced Iโ€™m gonna watch Ohtani MLB match in person, then Messi decide to come. Iโ€™m just so glad that my first in stadium post Covid week in week out is gonna be worthy now. Tbh, I could see NHL and NBA not being able to catch up with MLS growth. Next 3 year till WC is crucial. Time to lure all the young generation from the those boring game to real football.

  8. Great Soccer players top list:

    3. Messi ๐Ÿฅ‰
    4. Pelรฉ
    5. Beckenbauer
    6. Cristiano ronaldo
    7. Zidane
    8. Ronaldo nazario
    9. Beckham
    10. Raul….
