I don't understand the logic: Nedved was a midfielder and Henry was a forward. If you just decide the ballon d'or by goals and assists only forwards will win. Nedved that year won the league and made it to the Champions League final (that he did not play), beating what was considered the best team in Europe (I galacticos with Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo, etc.). You can impact the game without just scoring and assisting. And the Champion League has ever been big part of the vote.
Xavi and Iniesta are even worse cases.
But you can debate opinions. It’s facts that you can’t debate lol. For example, you can’t have a debate on who the golden show is because it’s based on a fact, the player with the most goals. The Ballon D’or is a joke. Anybody that even follows it is not a serious person. It’s voted on by journalists in 200 countries or something weird which means a random journalist in Burkina Faso has as much weight as the captain of the World Cup winning side.
Nedved was crucial for a monstrous UCL campain in 2002/2003. Henry did great but Arsenal with Henry not so much outside of england. And to be fair Serie A was the PL of back then while the EPL wasn't much popular outside the british waters
