I was 5 when seeing this game and I still remember it like yesterday. The battle between Schmeichel and Suker, 2 gentlemen of the sport. Croatias first appearance in the finest of rooms. Is it just me or did this time (90's and the early 2000's) contain players with strong character? Im talking about everyone from Schmeichel, Suker, Boban, Cantona, Keane, Beckham, Oliver Kahn, Bierhoff and the list goes on and on. Nowadays players change their hair color more often than they score a goal, or just having some cringy celebrations like griezmann/pogba. I miss the golden days of football.

Except for the final of Euro92, Schmeichel was beyond miserable with the Danish team, his timings were always catastrophic in many tournaments like .. Euro88, WC94 qualification when he single-handedly costed his national team the finals against Spain, Euro96 with a very awful performance depicted in this game, WC98 might be the worst especially against Brazil whereby all the 3 Brazilians goals were due to his dull impulsive thinking, and finally the Euro00 with yet another bad goalkeeping. The funny thing, he had a habit to blame the defenders after every goal.
