No doubt AF was a rare gem and the way things came together with Eric joining at the right moment, was lightning in a bottle.
However, it confuses me no end, that an organisation like United, cannot hire ONE decent manager in a decade of attempts.
Unfortunately, Fergie set things off to a bad start by recommending Moyes, who was hopelessly out of his depth.
Having said all that, the modern player in general, is an embarrassment and most are taking money under false pretences !
