Great episode
You have two play styles being coached here. Low block/boom ball and buildout 2-3 touch soccer.
The problems is our kids are being forced to go 11v11 way too early. Small sided games teach creativity. Throwing kids on a huge field with more players than they can mentally process is insanity. Their little bodies are not even physically mature enough for the big field.
You can’t just let a kid dribble all day in 11v11. It is not productive and it will not be rewarding to the player or team in anyway.
The most creative players I see are born with it or play 3v3 and futsal all winter and summer. They see the 3v2 or 2v1 quicker, know how to make runs and move defenders, and have a better sense of how to use space.
11v11 kills creativity.
Is there enough creativity being coached today?
