Over 1/3 of the way through the video:
No mention of 98 French born players participating in this World Cup including 75 not playing for France.
Then you have about 54 Dutch players participating.
It isn’t that the smaller countries have competitive talent, it is that France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany (?), Brazil, the USA (even), and possibly Argentina are developing players for other countries.
With more Caribbean and African slots, more top youth players have a backup option to get to the Cup. And that’s why so many of these teams have made it to the World Cup. It’s okay to discuss it.
FIFA has fone downhill. Too many teams. Too many breaks (hydration break lmao), VAR is clunky… this isn’t football. I haven’t watched much. Now the knockouts – 1st place teams playing against 3rd place???? Wth
Regarding the hydration breaks because of the concern about the heat. Just can't help but laugh about the European teams in regarding this. think about it, if this had been in France of germany, we would have seen games being played in 100 degree temperatures.
I am supportive of the hydration breaks, but instead of coming to the sideline, they should have the entire bench carry one bottle of water to the player that they would normally sub in for. The players on the field should have to stay where they are. and shorten the time from 3 minutes to 90 seconds. Or get rid of the hydration breaks, but allow free substitution, similar to Hockey conducting line changes.

The "Hydration" break ruins the strategy and tactics of teams, and stops the flow of play, it's ridiculous. It's a cash grab period.
It is inclusive, the wc qualifiers are part of the wc, the tournament is the wc cup finals
Group Stage is a celebration of football and of cultures…tournament starts at the Round of 32…go straight to 64
48 Teams is too much. 64 Teams is a nightmare. There are already barely any countries left which are able and willing to host a WC financially.
Cabo Verde, Scotland and Bosnia would've qualified even if it was the normal 32 team format. You claiming they definitely wouldn't shows you haven't watched any of the qualifying matches. Scotland just got unlucky getting thrown into a tough group in the WC, they were a great team in qualifiers. If anything, the teams that SHOULD be thankful for the 48team format are all the awful asian teams (Japan being the exception) that got embarrassed in the groups.
9:45 it is interesting how, he saying that goal difference don't seem so important anymore, when the top 8 third best teams where ranked not only by points but by goal differenz. That is what save Senegal, as the only team with only three points at the the end after losing their first two games and having a positiv goal differenz above other teams with three points too, but a goal differenz of 0 to negativ, like Iran, South Korea, Turkey and Scottland.
FIFA really trying to fix for Argentina and Messi again. Even if you ignore the terrible referee decisions they keep benefiting from, their bracket is ridiculously easy. They will not face a top 8 team until the semifinal. That is why I hope Brazil or England knock them out.
The problem was not the number, it was always the distribution of spots by FIFA.
In my opinion they should have stuck with 32
10 Europeans
9 Americans (south and north)
6 Africans
6 Asia and Oceania
And the host
To me 32 is far better

I think it was terrific! The only thing I'd change is the format to prevent matches like AUS-PAR or ALG-AUT where a draw is enough for both teams. Ideally, there should be 8 groups of 6.
It's great to see some of the African teams in the World Cup.
