look at how tanikawa snaps the ball to the ground here — bending her leg BACKWARDS, catching the ball on the outside of her foot with such incredible speed and control

i marvel at the strength and flexibility needed to achieve that without ligament injury! what a show

i love this idea — get retirees back on to the green with each other!

of course they'd be reluctant to injure themselves but i'd love to see retired women of the same athletic ability play competitively and televised in this format

    Subject:
⚠️ Formal Complaint Regarding Plagiarism and Political Misappropriation of the “World Football Day” Initiative by Rustami Emomali

Dear Excellencies, Distinguished Representatives, and Legal Experts,

We, the Political People’s Democratic Movement of Tajikistan (AMOT), led by Mr. Izatullo Dadaboyev, hereby submit this formal complaint based on clear and verified evidence of international idea theft and political manipulation by Mr. Rustami Emomali, the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan and son of authoritarian ruler Emomali Rahmon.

    ❗️Claim of Plagiarism:

According to official United Nations documentation and public sources:
    1. The original proposal for the establishment of May 25 as the “World Football Day” was introduced by the Permanent Mission of Libya to the United Nations, not Rustami Emomali.
    • 🔗 UN Official Document: A/78/L.73
    • 🔗 UN Media Announcement – Photo & Event
    • 🔗 NBS Sport Report – Uganda, May 8, 2024
    • 🔗 SCMP Youth Post, Global Media
    2. Despite these publicly acknowledged facts, Rustami Emomali falsely claimed authorship of the idea in Tajik state media, and received wide political exposure at the UN General Assembly as if it were his original initiative:
    • 🔗 Asia-Plus: Rustam Emomali’s “Initiative”
    • 🔗 Tajikistan Football Federation
    • 🔗 Avesta News – UN Celebration
    • 🔗 Khovar – Official Presidential Message

⚖️ Violation of International Law & Norms:

According to WIPO’s international conventions, including:
    • Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works,
    • TRIPS Agreement (WTO),
    • WIPO Copyright Treaty,

…unauthorized use, misrepresentation, and political exploitation of intellectual contributions or initiatives are clear violations of international intellectual property law.

Furthermore, the UN Charter, Article 100, and Code of Ethics of the United Nations condemn the misuse of international platforms for personal, nationalistic, or deceptive political gain.

    📢 Our Request:

    We respectfully urge:
    1. The Permanent Mission of Libya and His Excellency Ambassador Taher El-Sonni to claim rightful authorship and initiate legal and diplomatic proceedings, including potential appeal to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) or WIPO Arbitration.
    2. The World Intellectual Property Organization to launch a preliminary investigation regarding this violation and take steps to restore authorship integrity under international IP law.
    3. Transparency International to review this matter as an example of international political corruption through the appropriation of global initiatives for domestic regime propaganda.
    4. The United Nations Office of Legal Affairs to issue a clarification and remove any deceptive attributions in its public records if applicable.

We believe that protecting authorship and intellectual credibility at the United Nations level is critical not only to individuals but to the integrity of international law, justice, and democratic representation.

We stand ready to provide full documentation, translation, and assist in any legal procedures necessary to ensure truth and justice prevail.

    With highest respect and determination,

    Izatullo Dadaboyev
    Chairman,
Political People’s Democratic Movement of Tajikistan (AMOT)

  4. Nice tournament. It was fun to see clubs from so many countries. Here's little feedback, there should be a countdown clock on the screen too, it was confusing when would the next game start. 3rd place match, only 5 thousand viewers. For the semis it was over 12 thousand. Waiting time between the games on the 3rd day was too long. I think you lost a lot of viewers then

  5. What a fantastic tournament and a brilliant idea! So so proud of our wonderful Simi Awujo! It’s so great to see her getting to shine like that ❤️🇨🇦

  6. Manchester City will never get their desired results with this goal stopper! The main reason City lost WSL, FA Cup, and this tournament is that because of this careless goalkeeper's careless and silly mistake!
