Just get rid of football in the Games. Waist of air time on a pointless exercise
The Olympic tournament should be scrapped and replaced with the old Confederations Cup format of only champions of the six confederations (plus the World Cup champs and hosts). That way you not only allow the best players to play, you also free up quite a lot of quota spots for other sports.
As is, it's ridiculous to hand out gold medals for an event where the best players are not allowed to play.
Why does the olympics care? Just let anyone play. Worst case nothing changes best case they get more views.
Isn't the point of the Olympics to identify the best athletes from each nation for each sport?
I don’t get the World Cup since the olympics has never been on the same year as the World Cup. It’s usually the Euro’s

It would be a better tournament if they made it allowed for anyone soo long as they don't have a cap for their national team, so essentially B teams, that way it's still very much at a high pro level without it being basically a youth tournament.
