  1. no one , i will say it again no one should be doing a james garner vid without playing the rockford files music , nur nur nut nut nur nuna nuna–nana……………..

  2. okay i get it, Garner has been impressive this seasons and i love the attention for him. But some of these analysis just force things, anyone who has played football knows that that first defensive action was just a bad pass from the attacker. If you pause at 1:06 , if the pass was even the slightest bit accurate to any of the two attackers, Garner was behind the play and could have been the culprit. I think that more luck than any genius defensive IQ from him.

  3. All I needed to see was that map showing where he won the ball. It says everything I needed to know about what a value he is to a squad – think N'Golo Kanté. I'll choose work rate and anticipation over individual skill every day of the week.

  4. Such an unassuming lad, he reads the game brilliantly.
    I'm glad he's signed a new contract.
He's improved because DM has given him the confidence and freedom and that's the biggest thing. Jimmy is a shyish lad but once kick off time he's mad for it.
He's loved at Everton and that means a lot.
He's also got gueye around him who is the enforcer.
Keep it up Jimmy you're the goat

  5. Special shout out for Moyesey who has turned him into the complete midfielder. It wasn’t long ago under Dyche that many of us Blues thought of him as meh, he’s an extra body in midfield. Now? Indispensable first name on the teamsheet midfielder. He’s not flashy, but he’s a manager’s dream. James Garner is taking responsibility personified. That’s why you see him react before everyone else: “Ill take care of it myself and I’ll do it right now.”

  6. just imagine a Man Utd midfield 3 of Garner as 6, mainoo as 8 and Scotty in the pressing 10 role he plays for Napoli… perfectly balanced midfield that cost nothing.

  7. Sometimes, it's the combination of player, club and manager, that triggers the metamorphosis of a decent player, to a standout player. If Dyche was still here, Garner would not be in contention for a World Cup place, that style of play never suited him.

  8. He's one that annoys the hell out of me why united never really even gave him a chance. They loaned him out a few times and sold him. I remember really liking the look of him from his academy days and thought he looked like he had potential to make it into the first team but they never gave him a chance.

  9. Thing is what he does isn’t rocket science and it’s simple midfield fundamentals but he does them so well and stays switched on the entire game where as some others players might be switched on 70-80% of the time

  10. Can play him anywhere in the midfield or slot him in at RB/LB at a pinch. If Tuchel doesn't take him to North America, then he's a fool imo
