  1. Honestly, I remember him quite well form the Tevez/Conte days. It simply was too much for him. I'm glad he does those crazy finishes and truly established himself as the league's most gifted player, but truth is that says a lot about the quality of the playing in MLS.

  2. The last time Giovinco was on a Serie A team not named Juventus (Parma 2011-12, 8th) he was by far their best player. The only time he started for an entire season at Juventus, he scored 11 in 42 matches. It may be a surprise he chose MLS, but its not a surprise he is tearing it up like no other player has.

  3. Hes unreal…One big reason why hes doing so well is that hes not playing on the wing like he was back in Italy, he has a bigger role here then he did back in Europe which makes a big different's. He has pretty good stats while playing in Europe, he even played for Italy many times so dont knock his skills. The MLS needs players like him because it the only way to make this league better and better. Us Toronto fans love him here….TFC!!!

  4. For all of you non-MLS fans that are making comments of how "bad" the MLS is, I've got a few things to say.

The MLS is young. Only about 24 years old. La Liga is about 88 years old. Considering we've had close to no donations from other countries whatsoever, we're growing really fast. Just a couple of weeks ago the MLS all stars took on Real Madrid. In the first half, Giovinco almost scored on them, until the coach changed pretty much the whole 11. We put on a contest. The MLS is underrated and it's growing fast. Another 20 years from now and we'll be the league nobody wants to go up against.

  5. But despite my criticism, i hope that players like Giovinco and legends like Villa, Pirlo, Kaka, and Schweinsteiger inspires Americans to get into football/soccer. Yeah the World Cup-winning quintet are no longer at their best, obviously but i hope it gets big there.

  6. I understand Giovinco defends the MLS and i understand the MLS itself is quite competitive but it is by no means up to the standards of the Serie A. Giovinco was highly rated in Europe, but he was a little bit inconsistent. He might as well be the best player in the MLS, but i've got to say that's by default.

  7. I was like WTF is MLS lmao i mean ive been watching football since i was 5-6 so i was suprised then i saw its from usa because it says soccer lol

  8. The best Center Forward that the MLS currently has. Usually when players head toward America they do it to retire (e.g. Beckham, Villa, Xavi, Pirlo, Thierry, Lampard). He maybe arrived there way too early and too soon, in a kind of like good way, because he has a future and not a past unlike the others, he's got plenty left in the tank and spent out in terms of age, energy and effort. But I guess the others that I have mentioned have one good thing and that's experience.
