What a time for football!!
Poor Salah…
This idiot Slot, for example, doesn't even see that the main problem of attacking players is that they always touch the ball one more time than necessary. They could score about 6 more goals per game if they understood this simple fact.
It's still quite sad and heart-wrenching to see Jota on the pitch.
Good video. But please consider place the mic on a floating stand or something. The constant thump ruins an otherwise great video 👍👍
I reckon we drop Gapko. A reason we are getting busy on the left is his stubbornness to do anything different.
With Wirtz, you had a more technical version of what Diaz would provide, but not near the same press.
But, it was still opening up so many options. He would end up on the right hand side many times.
We need to bring Kirkez into the game, and we also need to bring Frimpong into the game as well.
The game before Frimpong was injured, and he was given time to attack the line, he provided a new attacking threat and the first time someone could actually get a low cross into the danger zone since Trent
Arne Slott needs to watch this
Wasn't Nunez an out+out number 9?
Play Wirtz as a false 9
I don't have much Football knowledge… but what I am gonna speak will be from me watching the EPL for the last 1.5 years closely… watching how other teams are operating and more closely about how Liverpool plays.
Luis Diaz is a big miss. His accuracy and finesse are something that Hugo, Isak, or Chiesa aren't able to match yet.
Another problem has been their inefficiency in penetrating the opponent's half.
Whereas the third is that all these new players are arguably trying to justify their spot instead of playing for each other.
And the fourth reason has been Salah having less time with the ball… be it him being a bit off, be it others being unable to give him the ball in the box.. he has been given the ball more often between midline and box.. and thereby being blocked early.
Szobo has been the only player in my view who has looked in his skin… and I would like more of him with Salah to make him play in the box.
Opponent has pushed almost 9 of their XI back (plus GK) when Liverpool is attacking… while in their attacks… Liverpool's players are caught fewer in number, often giving them an easy chance to deliver in the counterattacks.
In my view, they should go with 4 backs mostly… keeping them back until the attack is to be done, when Bradley or Kerkez can make a move, and one of the midfielders (Gravenberch) dropping back.
The mid should form a similar triangle of Mac, Gravenberch, and Szobo… with Jones at times to join.
And a left field thought of mine would be to try, and play Salah as CF and play Gakpo and (Ekitike or Isak) on two sides… that way Szobo and Mac can let Salah play more in the box… and Ekitike & Gakpo dribbling in from sides to pass the balls.
What are your thoughts? I would love to know more from ya on this.
Now is West Hams time to beat Liverpool come on you Hammers lets get a result tommorow!
One things for sure liverpool definitely needs a proper Defensive Midfielder
Arne Slot tactics always worked with a good Defensive Midfielder to gain the ball back
Charlie Kirkez 💀
you know arne slot is watching this right now
Tldr; slot isolated all the attackers. Forcing them to act on their own every time they want to score.. Issue is, the attackers we got don't know how to dribble their way to the goal.
Jota gone, Diaz gone, Nunez gone, Elliot gone, Trent gone, Quansa gone. Have some Mercy on the mighty red, Liverpool will come back, and stronger even 💪
YNWA you reds
Arne slot Watching this video
no fucking way the official PL account also do a video essay on Liverpool bad form 😂 i do familiar with James Alcott content but the fact that PL themselves upload this is so funny lol
THE OLD STORY: a bandful of stars
Arne slot joined the discussion 😅
Wirtz needs to learn how Diaz made the efforts to run Infront Salah to get support.
Honestly they have the same wins as Burnley and Leeds
The real undoing is there is no clear organization. Last season there was two set of players, the attackers and defenders. This season, everyone is caught out of position, including the CBs who usually dragged out by opponent's strikers. Simple quick long ball is enough to hurt Liverpool. And what make things worse is the Head Coach is too stubborn to acknowledge a flaw in his system. He relies on individual defending brilliance to mop the mess, which doesn't work now. Both VVD and Konate were below average, Ali was good but then got injured, Mama guy is average, and the FBs are shite. But Slot thinks his problem is only in attacking.
You have made some good points and I like that you’ve shown some stats but what you haven’t said and not many people are taking about is the the other dynamics
1-We’ve lost good players who run off the ball and hold the ball really well, with alot of energy who run in behind, Diaz, Nunez jota RIP, and Robbo is a year older and Trent has gone,
2- Bradley is a good player but he cannot play 90 mins without getting injured, frimpong for me isn’t good enough and also is injury prone so we have no solid right back, this means taking sboz who is our energy and legs and goal scoring midfielder and our best cm this year into rb to put jones in cm. This impacts our attacks as sboz is a so much better than jones. Logic would say play jones rb or gomez,
3-robbo is the better lb but is old and cant preform every game, Kerkez simply isn’t good enough, he’s small, slow and weak, he’s ok on the ball but not good enough
So we are very weak both sides
4-Teams all know to pressure our team and then when konate has the ball to leave him with it as he is slow to pass and gives teams time to get back, he’s also been shocking recently
5- so we’ve lost our best cm because he’s playing rb now so we’ve lose our further up the pitch, wirtz simply isn’t a cm and is a lw and should play there,
6-gakpo simply isn’t good enough, he’s 6’4 beast who is rapid but doesn’t run in behind, doesn’t use his hight, doesn’t win headers and isn’t hard working compared to Diaz, wirtz should be playing lw most games but still questionable, or elitiki should play lw
7- the new tactics is showing that none of our players run in behind now or off the ball, slot is playing 2 wingers to sit out wide when last season and every season before Salah was inside forward,
Everyone knows the best goals scorers score their goals inside the box, now slot is playing Salah touching the side line, logic would be to have him in the box more and moving off the ball in behind, which isn’t happening, this is why Salah isn’t scoring, he simply won’t if he’s standing by the side line, we go forward to go back now because none makes runs off the ball or has any risky passes, we are now slow to pass and create
So for me things that need to happen, is Salah plays more in the box, forwards and cm make more runs in behind and risky balls being played, faster counter attack, and play players in their best positions “sboz in cm”
Also adress the problem at the back, go and sign another cb and a right back, and play chiesa ffs,
Because their luck catch up to them. Their first games in the PL could have gone either way but they won but their performances was poor and still
an analysis content by the Premier League itself?? damn
As sad as it is, Liverpools downfall started when Jota passed away and when they sold Luis Diaz/Nunez and Trent. Gakpo is solid but he isn't what Liverpool need atp.
Nice analysis
I just love how Aleksander Isak has fitted perfectly into this team. He's going to win many, many, many championships with them. Many.
except they looked far from unbeatable last season
