  1. Simple answer is Gerrard making sure it was all about him for years and everyone tip toeing around him as he walks about with his frown that all scousers have! They all frown?

  2. Strongest period for Liverpool from 2000-2010 was probably the the 2008-2009.
They were the best team in the league that seasons and maybe the one before as well.
Prior to that they were always the 4th best team, sometimes 3rd at best.

  3. Arsenal and Liverpool are almost similar clubs financially i mean they ain't rich like united real Madrid Chelsea city but are big clubs and both clubs have similar wages structure.
Arsenal bought smartly in the past and now its Liverpool under kloop the only difference was Liverpool were good enough to finish top 4 regularly.

  4. Liverpool seemed a one or two man team in the 2000's. it became a bit like villa with grealish now gerrard had to rescue them every week, surrounded by dross like diouf and co or smicer etc. United had a core of the brilliant 75 born local lads surrounded by the financial power of the brand they built to recruit carrick tevez and co, and then fergie was a incredible man manager.

  5. Man utd bought the premier league. Thanks for clearing that up (at last)
Eric cantona from premier league champions Leeds
Roy Keane most expensive midfielder ever at the time
Veron 30 million in 2000 (that’s how much players cost 20 years later)
Rio Ferdinand 30 million off a competing Leeds team
Robin van Persia/dimitar berbatov competing rivals
Can’t buy from close rivals anymore lol happy days.
Sir prod Ferguson just bought success against teams that couldn’t compete financially
Great to see the likes of money bags Chelsea and man city come in eventually and mourinho smashed all premier league records and then guardiola smashed all English records. Proper managers because they did it in a time when they had proper teams competing against team (man utds riches) remember man city under guardola have only spent about 40/50 million (one player) more than van gaal/mourinho did at utd

  6. Premier league will soon be finished. Too much influence and too much politics. Bring back football for the real working class. Footballers should never be paid more money than a doctor or a fireman.

  7. Its simple..Liverpool weren't good enough to challenge those two clubs. U have Owen and Gerrard but still was not enough to beat the Invincibles and Fergie's team Beck's era. After those two eras ended then u can see liverpool coming up and won the CL in 2005. Before that Arsenal and Man Utd were above all. Hands down…

  8. When you look back Liverpool shirts and Ac Milan 2005 you surprised ( Gatuso, Nesta, Cafu, sedrouf, Maldini, Pirlo, crespo, Zchuveshanko😂, Kaka) Liverpool (Luis Garcia, Gerrad , Hypia, who else😂😂

  9. Arsenal invincible are one of the most overrated teams. Not even in the same category as United 99’, 08’, Mourinho’s first Chelsea team, City 100pt team and this current Liverpool team.

  10. Liverpool have only really invested in pace since the Koop era. Man U & Arsenal had been doing this for ages.

Liverpool’s recruitment was shocking – how we let Anelka go was criminal! Houlliers fault.

  11. The Liverpool sides of the 2000s always had fragments of a great side, they were on the verge of greatness on many occasions but poor recruitment and decision making behind the scenes cost them. It’s almost as if Arsenal and Liverpool have switched places in terms of how the clubs are managed

  12. Old Trafford was in an industrial area so Manchester United were able to expand old Trafford up to its current capacity. Anfield is in a residential area and expanding the stadium was impossible until recently.
Forget the class of 92 or Alex Ferguson. Manchester United’s extra capacity gave them at one stage 31000 extra attendance every home game. They were generating almost double what Liverpool got from attendances.
As a Liverpool fan it was tough seeing the club not able to compete on a level playing field.
That is the main reason Liverpool couldn’t beat the Red Devils.

  13. Lpool had 30mill they couldnt sign 1 player they had to sign 4… as Utd already were ahead, and they had 1 or 2 pieces missing of a jigsaw, where-as Lpool had 5- pieces missing… and Lpool didnt have 5 years to be-able to buy 1 player a season.. they had to build NOW… and when you buy potential some hit , most miss… when you buy a finished item.. its generally a hit

Truth is, Fergy was a God. had more money, and a head start on Lpool managers after Souness.

  14. That season Liverpool pipped Leeds to 4th was a game changer for both teams. They were both in financial trouble and needed champions league money. With Leeds finishing 5th they needed to sell and sell quick. So the Rio transfer comes up but O’leary refuses to sign the transfer off, ultimately leading to his sacking and Venables coming in. The 1st thing Terry did was sign the transfer to Man Utd. He brought in Barmby and someone else. The Leeds saga begins

  15. Carragher was right about Wenger. To compete with Man United with their money was really remarkable. He bought young players and made them superstars. Shame we never win the UCL with that team.
