  1. The problem is our expectations outweigh reality. We have solid players but we don’t have stars that can take over games. On our day we can surprise teams but we have to temper our expectations until they actually accomplish something besides CONCACAF glory.

  2. Guys, Gregg has Gio playing farther back than Wes. Gregg is still trying to find his deep lying playmaker and playing both Wes and Gio out of position. Gio should be farther up and Wes should be winning physical battles in the midfield and popping long diagonals

  3. We don't have that top flight goalkeeper like we had in the past, Howard, Keller that could cover for mistakes the back four made and they commanded respect and could expect the back 4 to listen and do what they were told/asked to do. Matt Turner is good/not great with his hands, but weak with his feet. But he is not a top Premier league keeper.

  4. The biggest problem is consistency. Night and day between Columbia and Brazil. This inconsistent play is not just these two games. We do poorly the first game than comeback the second is pretty standard for USMNT under GGG 2.0. having a bad game now and then is fine, it happens but USMNT has too many bad games.

  5. Biggest problem is a federation more interested in control and money than growing game and success on the field.

You don’t rehire Berhalter if you have any interest in results. Period. There is no excuse. Hide behind a consulting group or Crocker all you want.

  6. The biggest problem has been not playing against top level competition on a regular basis. Matches against Brazil, Columbia – this Copa America tournament is what they need more than anything else. Look at the strides made from game 1 to game 2. U can't play Concacaf all the time and then expect to be ready for the biggest tournaments in the world.

  7. It's been 6 years!!!!!! How can they not have practiced these movements? It's like they are practicing back passes and passes in midfield. There's no concept of how to work the ball into the striker or make good crosses. This is why Berhalter needs to go. He doesn't have the chops to teach these guys how to play. This team will never progress under Berhalter. He can't mix things up; he can't change what he does. It's clear as day. He's so limited. How can US Soccer miss it? Sad.

  8. Mych better fight and sharpness, and buildup got better as the game went on. Tim Ream was the foundation, wing play was good, but yes more interplay in midfield would help.

  9. One of the biggest issues is you have LDT who is our best CM at keeping the ball and picking out the right pass yet he doesn’t start over CMs who can’t complete a forward pass

  10. Charlie throwing shade at Milan when talking about Musah. There are only a handful of clubs that are bigger than Milan. Milan has won the second most champions league titles and won Serie A two years ago. Charlie acted like Milan is some second tier clun.

  11. These guys played incredibly good. One error. If not for that error U.S. would have been extremely better. I believe they actually were. The U.S. is a better team all around. Incredible. Looking for more of this and start dominating. World cup trophy bound! Let's go!!!!!!!

  12. Looking at the stats (I did not see the game), it's clear Brasil dominated the play. Brasil will be an entirely different team in a competetive game. Can't draw too many conclusions from a friendly game. This US team does not excite me. Pulisic is not as good as Landon Donovan or Clint Dempsey were. We haven't had a real striker since Jozy Altidore.

  13. 3 main issues:

1: USSF Cronyism and Incompetence, as seen in their hiring process.

2: Gregg and his predictable, ineffectual U shaped tactics, even the youth teams are forced to play the same style.

3: A constrained Media, that has to tap dance around criticism towards the team, or lose access.

USMNT did great against Brazil in the friendly. But we've seen this before, this team has no consistency under Gregg and needs a new coach. We cant change our best players, but we can and should change the coach prior to 2026.

    Edited for typo.
