Seems the way to fix Italian football is simple, they need to stop living in the past and move on like everyone else did
Its the Managerial tactics, positioning and technique etc. They also need conditioning to be calm under pressure again! The players have good enough individual skills.
I dreamed of the Italian national team, coached by Cesc Fabregas, becoming a powerful force, winning Euro 2028 and the World Cup 2030, with Prime Minister Miloni happily raising her hands, standing tall, jumping, jumping. 😊i,am from somalia 🇸🇴
ancelotti say it need to fire everyone in the federation for a fresh start
Bring back Mario ballotelli at ST for italy lol
Demarco 😂 hes past his prime
Quality of player going forward sucks
There’s no near world class No10 or No9 who this team can rely on
Sad
Mourinho will be a good choice
Most of the youth of Italy are moving abroad to get, better paid jobs. So unless you know you are definitely going to make it as a Serie A footballer. The safer option is going to be more appealing.
Mancini and Farioli from Porto as the young coach.
Donnaruma should also not be called again italy should look for new talent
Itali dont have baller player.. not enough in good driblling
Tonali, Calafiori, Palestra, Kean, Retegui.
Donnarumma is overrated, Carnesecchi is better.
Bastoni and Mancini are garbage.
Politano should not be in the team
DiMarco good offence stinks 🦨 in defense.
Pio is not better than Retegui.
Change the system: 3-5-2 is Garbage!!!!
Change coach!
Deep lying play makers de rossi and pirlo …perotta..camronesi..
Gattuso…
So why isn't baggio part of the selection or coaching????
Italy akan bagus jika Juventus juga bagus , siapa berani membantah ? 1982 ? 2006 ? brp pemain Juventus yg menjadi tim inti ? saat itu lah Italy benar benar super !!
The biggest problem is the system including the youth
World cup without italy not the same
Don't know why gattuso was managing when there are so many italian greats out there
442
Pio Kean
Dimarco Tonali Loca Palestra
Bartesaghi Calafiori Scalvini Kayode
Gigi
I think Maldini would be a great coach ….
Gattuso was a mediocre coach throughout his career, I loved him as a player and quite frankly we have to give him thanks for taking on this cursed team. Allegri refused, Conte refused, and Gattuso stepped up, respect for that. Next thing, this 3-5-2 has to go, no world class team is running a 3-5-2, it has to go. Bastoni is hit or miss, personally I'd go with Calafiori, Leoni, Scalvini and Keyode. We need to look toward building a team for the next world cup, we need to she all the older players who will be 30+ in the next world cup. Well, maybe 32 and under. In midfield, Barella is no good, he hasn't done much for Inter and he has done nothing for the Nazionale, he has to go, this isn't the Barrella of yesteryear. Palestra and Tonali should stay, and they should look for another midfield and run a 4-3-3. I agree Kean saved the day on many occasions, he'll still be fit for 2028, he should stay. We can develop 2 more wingers who will be fast and fit, that should be the goal. Bastoni is questionable, depending on his performance he can stay or go, but he should get used to a back 4 line which he isn't right now. In center defense he stunk. Most of this team needs to go, dare I say even DiMarco. Again, they should aim for the next world cup instead of the Euros, Yes Dimarco will still be fine in the Euros, Barrella and Bastoni will be fine in the Euros, but we need to think 4 years out and get a team ready that knows and understands one another. Perhaps Gnotto might be a good idea in midfield, it seems the only players carrying the day aside from Kean were the Premier League players like Calafiori and Tonali. They have a different pace in England, and Italian players seem lazy and scared to jump their man. Too much tactics and not enough balls, they need to take their man on and overcome
Now we're on a part like Germany was in the year 2004, when Jürgen Klinsmann came and changed everything. And so we need a new idea of football and from the U-Teams to the National Team must go for it!
Leave Michael Olabode Kayode for Nigeria!
Why do you panic like that. Bosnia is a force of nature. You don't fight a tornado, right?
This Italy is sooo boring! Who are these guys? They are worth 7 times more than us and we crushed them. A Victoria Plzen guy (a true warrior though, but nevertheless) cripled them by forcing the red card and so on.
Oh my this Tonali, the fact that his name is mentioned over and over again as the best MF Italy has right now describes how terribly bad the squad they have. Back then, he would not even be allowed to polish Ambrossini's shoes, who at the time had rarely been called up to the national squad.
Roberto Mancini .
Locatelli was fine… DiMarco is super talented but a huge liability for the azzurri. It feels like our entire lineup is influenced by trying to include him and he's just too weak defensively to justify.
FORZA ITALIA.❤🙏🇷🇸
Italy have both a players and a coach problem…
but a decent coach should at least be able to get them to qualify! C'mon, it's not like Bosnia or Turkey are full of super players!
There's no future with corruption and to eliminate it here's what we need to eliminate first Here is the blacklist of the "Old Guard"—the figures who must be ousted to bring about the renaissance of Italian football:
1. Gabriele Gravina – "The Chief Bureaucrat"
Role: The outgoing President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).
The Problem: He bears primary responsibility for the "stagnation" of Italian football. Under his leadership, young talent has been sidelined in favor of "electoral interests." He stands accused of covering up financial disasters within clubs to secure his own position; his failure to guide the national team to qualification for the 2026 World Cup was the straw that broke the camel's back. He embodies a mindset that prioritizes "sports politics" over "footballing revitalization."
2. Claudio Lotito – "The Political Serpent"
Role: President of Lazio and Member of the Italian Senate.
The Problem: This man is the most dangerous figure among the Old Guard due to his blatant conflicts of interest. He leverages his influence within Parliament to obstruct legislation regarding "strict financial oversight" and "stadium modernization." He is the primary orchestrator of a voting bloc that resists radical change, as the status quo guarantees him continued influence and power.
3. Giancarlo Abete – "The Administrative Dinosaur"
Role: President of the Amateur League and former President of the Federation.
The Problem: He represents "inertia" personified. He is the man who controls the votes of the lower divisions and amateur leagues, utilizing this bloc to prevent any fresh faces—such as Maldini or Del Piero—from ascending to the presidency. He acts as the "guardian of the old order," ensuring that the same aging figures remain entrenched in key decision-making positions in exchange for trivial concessions granted to the lower leagues. 4. Luigi De Siervo – "The Marketing Failure"
Role: CEO of the Italian League (Lega Serie A).
The Calamity: He is accused of being an "enemy of commercial evolution." Under his tenure, the Italian League has become "impoverished" and unable to sell its global broadcasting rights at competitive rates. He is further accused of managing the TV rights portfolio with a "cronyism" mentality—favoring specific Italian companies—thereby depriving clubs of the financial liquidity that could have enabled them to construct world-class stadiums.
5. Mario Bragga and "The Old Referees' Lobby"
Role: Long-standing figures within the Referees' Committee (AIA).
The Calamity: These individuals represent the "dark room" that casts doubt upon the integrity of the league. They are accused of manipulating referees and appointing names "compliant" with the establishment to officiate sensitive matches—a practice that kills competitive fairness and makes the Italian League appear to be "rigged" behind the scenes.
6. Aurelio De Laurentiis – "The Investment Blocker"
Role: President of SSC Napoli.
The Calamity: Despite his financial acumen regarding his own club, he is viewed as a "selfish" figure within the broader league ecosystem. He opposed the entry of international investment funds (such as CVC)—which stood to inject billions into the Italian League—solely because he sought absolute control; this stance has contributed to the league lagging light-years behind the English Premier League.
Why do these individuals constitute "Systemic Corruption"? The problem with these individuals lies not merely in "embezzlement of funds," but in a "corrupt mentality":
The Stifling of Stadium Development: The bureaucracy spearheaded by Lotito and Abete has rendered Italy the only nation in Europe incapable of constructing a new stadium in under ten years.
Cronyism at Coverciano: The transformation of the national team training center into a venue for appointing "friends of the Federation" as youth coaches—a practice that has decimated entire generations of talent.
A Dysfunctional Electoral System: A system that grants the "Amateur League" greater voting power than the "Top-Flight Clubs," thereby ensuring that these individuals remain entrenched in their positions indefinitely.
The removal of these figures represents the only "radical solution." For without purging the leadership of these specific individuals, any new Federation president will inevitably serve as nothing more than a "puppet" in their hands.
All this views are funny
Teams with less talent qualify from europe teams like Switzerland as much as italy don't have same talent as b4 dey should have qualified highest we gat to complain they don't go far deep in tournaments this team aren't serious and dey need to work on their youth systems nd not blame foreigners for their predicament
My man is correct! Mancini is the right coach to bring us back. Especially now that Gravina is oht n they’re cleaning house he has the freedom to bring his team of staff in and not have anyone tel him no bring this one and that one. That’s why he bounced in 2023, fall oht with the President of FIGC! Ot wasn’t for money as many ppl think.
I would choose Maldini as the Italy coach ( other teams would be scared just to see him on sideline) and believe it or not
Gianni Rivera as assistant coach !! Yes !!😊😊
Spaletti is better manager on paper, but his performance at euros as defending champs was embarrassing. Then getting crushed by Norway was the final straw. Gattuso is a joke of manager. If they wanted someone with grit should have asked DeRossi.
The Barella disrespect is insane
It's ironic that people talking about who's gonna be the next coach when the problem is bigger than coaching. It doesn't matter whoever is gonna be the next couch, things won't change much cause there's a lack of players quality and leadership. Italy needs to a new start from the grassroot.
Current Italian football is all about: a 1-1 draw, share the points, everybody, coaches, players and fans go home happy. Come back next week and do it all over again.
Until they change the whole squad they will never play in another WC. All 22 players suck. Cant defend, cant make simple 5 yrd passes, the first touch is horrible, they cant defend and still try playing like back in the day, they cant attack, dribble, or get past 1 defender, they cant shoot, do set pieces. We suck
Enzo Maresca or Maurizio Sarri is Italy's best options. Modern and effective
Apparently Roberto Baggio’s dossier recommended€50 million to put into place changes. Where will the FIGC get that kind of money & this economic statistic is from 2011. Today it would €75 million. Will the state put-up the cash? I don’t think so. It’s too corrupt. Italian football is in a deep crisis. It could be wiped out into the realms of complete insignificance. Fact is we are concerned & talking about this means it still matters.
Please stop disrespecting Matteo Gabbia, he should be in the Italy national squad
Italian Canadian here. Kinda torn on the result because i could've seen italy vs canada but it would be horrible to see Canada smash italy with their speed. Also fitting that christante turned down the canadian team to play for italy then miss a penalty kick to miss another world cup meanwhile canada is in back to back world cups
one word “Conte”
The best manager for the Italian national team will be Conte. Please don't try Mancini again or Inzaghi.
