  1. In his prime, Messi would've been the best player in the world in any position, other than Centre Back and Goalkeeper. Ronaldo in his prime, is only in the conversation at Left Wing and Forward and even then, Messi was better.

  2. There will be a good players but to have Ronaldo or Messi type of players, it will take at least for another 20-30 years. They are among the best. A level with diego armando, zizou, rondaldinho, pele, ronaldo de lima. Perhaps Neymar Jr. is among the best in terms of current active professional footballer. Other than those name, I dont see we cant label them as world best.

  3. There is no such thing as the world's best player. You can only try and say who is the best player in their position. Almost everyone leaves out players in the bottom half of the pitch when making these lists. That said, both Ronaldo and Messi are outside of the top ten attacking players now. De Brunye, Benzema, Salah, Mbappe, Lewandowski, Haaland, Foden, Jota, Immobile and De Jong, I could go on, are now better.

  4. Even with the new talents coming in from the Premier League and La Liga, there will never be anybody like Messi or Ronaldo. The stats, the trophies, the memories, I can't see anybody properly replacing these two, they'll always have a special place engraved in football history.

  5. I can't believe we are at this point it feels like yesterday when I saw Ronaldo left his first Balloon d'Or in 2008 then to see Messi win 4 in a row on top of that 91 goal in 1 year to now not knowing who to call the best….sad day

  6. Salah is really good. I am a Liverpool fan but he has years and miles and hundreds of goals to go before he can ever be compared with Messi and Ronaldo.

I think Lewandowski is getting there.

Benzema might be in form now but he won't be doing that as long as Ronaldo.

  7. Can't deny the importance of Harry Maguire for his club's opponents. Immensely important player. Deserves a new category of prize as big as Ballon d'or. He definitely deserves 1 billion a week at Man United.

  8. Lewandowski and benzema have been playing at the top since 2010 within the same generation as Leo and Ronaldo . They deserve the respect as well once these two retire .

  9. Mo Salah is the best player in the world. This is not up for discussion. Goal a game year in year out against the toughest opposition on earth.

    Lewandowski is the second.

    Haaland the third.

Mbappe the fourth. Until he plays in a proper league, his league goals and performances barely count. CONSISTENCY makes greatness, and despite his epic moments in the world cup and CL, he hasn't scored goals consistently against any decent level of opposition. If it wasn't about consistency, then Shaqiri and Ben Arfa would go down as two of the best players to have ever lived.

He is the deontay wilder of football, absolute flat track bully.
