Whether during his prime or when it is already gone Salah's attitude has always been Liverpool's problem. A team cannot be driven by a diva prayer. CR7 is a star but also works for the team. Maradona, Messi, and Ronaldinho are exceptions to that rule, but Salah is not in that category.

Liverpool fell apart. They only have the former hype Kloop made to get off on. The team is slowly disintegrating. Kloop created a system and brought the players to make it work. Slot is still using that system but as we can see it not working out so great. The team has new players, but they weren't bought based on what was needed. You can't have Writz tied to the front. He's supposed to roam freely as long as he doesn't encroach on the duties of others. Liverpool is poor defensively. They should've been shopping for a good DM to cover the gaps and invest in the team's stamina and endurance and not trying to cramp playmakers into a lineup.

6:22 100% it’s a failure in coaching and foresight. Same failings killed Son’s prem career prematurely. Look at Jon Barnes, CR7 and countless others that moved inside.
So many things are wrong. They bought Wirtz even though they already had five No. 10s. They sold Díaz and lost Jota, so now they don’t have a proper left winger anymore.
They brought in Ekitike and Isak, but that doesn’t really work with Wirtz because all of them tend to drop deep. That creates a chemistry problem in the squad.
They also didn’t sign a defensive midfielder or a center back. Instead, they bought wing backs who are suited for a 3 4 3, not a 4 3 3.
On top of that, they have a coach from the Netherlands. He is used to a 4 3 3, but he switched to a 4 2 3 1, which creates a structural issue. The double pivot is too disconnected from the attacking players, leaving a gap in midfield, and he doesn’t seem to know how to fix it.
They overload the box too early. Salah can’t make runs in behind and arrive late into the box because everyone is already there.
He doesn’t seem to have a clear plan, constantly changing the system from game to game, switching between 4 4 2 and 4 2 1 2 1.
Another issue is the tempo. The game is too slow, probably because there are no clear automatisms. There are no defined patterns like “if you’re here, play the cross and Ekitike will be there.” Instead, everyone just seems to roam freely.
In the end, the problem is not just the coach. It’s the management as well.
