  1. Lmao they're out here talking about budget. Half the coaches in the world would take the job for pocket change just to boost their legacy. I doubt most that applied even asked about or requested a salary

  2. He needs to be fired after they lose 4-0 to Brazil. Berhalter is trash and will run the exact system with the exact same game plan. Guaranteed

  3. So what he is saying is Rapinoe and her cohorts were not only toxic to the female side, but also F’ed the USMNT’s chances of hiring a competent coach because of equal pay.
Let us all learn a lesson from this!

  4. We need the right tactics and formation that match our best, available players. Against top CONMEBOL and UEFA competition, it’s not a high possession, attack-minded 4-3-3. Berhalter does not appear to understand this fundamental.

  5. McBride kinda makes sense. I hadn’t thought much about the moving parts in all this. So here’s my do-able short list: 1) Joachim Low (he can’t be that retired), 2) Hugo Perez (he gets a lot out of nothing in El Salvador), 3) Javier Aguirre (massive experience and he’s adaptable style-wise).

  6. how many of us are really pulling for berhalter? ofc we want the USMNT to be successful, but berhalter's numbers are mid at best. Is that all our ambition will allow for?

  7. He should never have been rehired. Worst decision in USMNT history. So stupid. Go get a real coach. As a Charger fan, I can tell you that talent alone does not win games. You need a proper coach to bring the best out of the players. Berhalter is the Staley of international soccer. Let's go get our Jim Harbaugh!!!

  8. McBride should just say what he means when he says politics doesn't allow for an open discussion about hiring a more competent manager. Is he saying that the women's side of the equation doesn't allow for that? Is he saying the nepotism that put GGG in that position in the first place doesn't allow for an honest discussion at the higher levels?

It truly sucks that the most talented generation of American soccer players are being coached by an incompetent, stubborn and clueless manager. I agree with many on here, you wouldn't need $8 or $9M to improve over this tire fire.

  9. I'm going to make the argument again that the USSF is throwing boatloads of money away on Berhalter. The reason all the European leagues are killing themselves to get a piece of the US market; the reason so many US businessmen and coalitions are buying up European teams; the reason all the networks are paying to get the tv rights for the European leagues… is because it's worth a boatload of money!

Look at the incredible numbers on Pulisic #11 Milan shirt sales. Ok, now look at his #10 USMNT sales. Why is that? The simple answer is that Americans love a winner… and don't love losers. Why is the USMNT nearly always playing "away" even at home? See… it's even worse… Americans absolutely hate being embarrassed! We will not come out for a team that we can't trust to not embarrass us. The USMNT under Berhalter embarrasses us.

Every. Single. Stakeholder… should understand that Berhalter is costing them a lot more money than it would cost to hire Pep by a factor of 10 at least. So… Brian… how does that equate in a board meeting?

  10. These guys are all hooked into the SYSTEM..if this was Mexico, England, Italy, on and on..GGG would be hung out to dry a few years ago! We are still learning the game and these guys don't want to lose their Back Stage Passes

  11. Im having a hard time believing we cant get a better coach to take the job. Julen Lopetegui sent his resume. These former executives and the federation are gaslighting the fans into thinking so.

  12. I'll just say this, the team looked terrible. The coaching was terrible. The reality is, the coach has to go. Hes not getting what he envisioned from the players. so either his player pools to blame, or, more realistically, what he envisioned had no basis in reality in the first place.
    His coaching has always sucked.

  13. At this stage, it doesn't matter who we get. What matters is that we know what we have, and it's bad. We won't know how good this team really can be until Berhalter is gone. When he wasn't coaching, they played as if a huge weight had been lifted off them. Think about who it will be down the road. For now, hand it over to someone else. Perhaps B.J.

  14. 5:17 with how interconnected and incestuous the fed and MLS are, you’d think getting “boosters” to help pay for a top coach would be easy…

But I guess they just want to use that connection to get their “guys” into the job 🤦‍♂️

  15. Hope in the USA, we don’t start firing coaches when a game goes bad. Need to learn lessons from Argentina, Germany, Uruguay, that stick with coaches as part a of a long term project. Let’s don’t follow the way Mexican commentators treats coaches and players when they loose a game and then flip 180 when they win a game.
