  1. I genuinely think. He’s the best ever Premier League player. He ticks all boxes. Longevity, titles, big game player, all the ability in the world, versatile and world class in multiple positions, sacrificed himself for multiple players.

  2. Prime Rooney was a beast. Goalscorer, passing, assister, CAM, Striker, Winger, Cental midfielder, Defensive midfielder. Modern Ruud. Managers after Alex played him in too many positions and that did cut his career short and hamper him. But Rooney's ability for all us who have watched him, will never be underappreciated

  3. I see a lot of commenters comparing Rooney and Saurez. Although, they had a similar game by dropping deep and influencing play. They were not the same type of modern striker. Rooney was the complete footballer that any team (and I mean every team) would want in their team today. His ability to score goals from anywhere, desire to win, dogged aggression, are second to none. If needed he could drop into midfield and be an auxiliary no. 6.

  4. Prime Rooney would have been even better in this high energy high press Era.. he can thrive in rough physical league but make no mistake he'd look at home in a prime Barca Tika taka team

  5. I think Rooney was pushed out at United. We haven't yet looked as good without him as we did with him. Even in that last season. I reckon he could have played another couple of seasons.
