Vincent Kompany’s statement against racism

At his pre-match press conference ahead of Bayern vs. Frankfurt, Vincent Kompany addresses the recent racism incidents involving Real Madrid’s Vinícius Jr. in their UEFA Champions League match against Benfica. The Bayern coach speaks openly about discrimination, respect and responsibility in football — a reminder that some conversations go far beyond the game itself.

  1. Strong and clear. Thank you Mr Kompany for these words, you are the honor of your club and of your country. Hopefully you can bring some healing and soothing in a world going astray.

  2. I can confirm what Vince said : black people have to prove their value much more than others in western society, they must go through many difficulties, discriminations, and yes, it’s already at school that it begins … To be respected, as a human being, they must prove their value, it’s not an achievement. Society must improve, and concerning football, all clubs should sign an obligatory FairPlay Charta, as a condition to have the permission to compete, in national competitions, and of course in international competitions. We need a FairPlay Charta in sports …

  3. I dont agree with the action not having any benefits for Vinicius. He gets more attention. He always wants to be in the centre of attention

  4. Strong words from the coach of a Club that is all too happy to take financial aid from Katar. A Country that still has one of the most exploitative and racist systems in the world.

  5. Exemple parfait d'un homme intelligent, juste, honnête, un leader extraordinaire. Il arrive à exprimer son idée sans être dans la colère et à faire passer un vrai message.

  6. being a minority in a country where we are hated and loved is a strange emotion. It teaches us to be empathetic, it teaches us humility and unity more than anything ever could!

  7. My Respect for this Man just skyrocketed, i think thats on me. I listened to him earlier, he is so eloquent and he „hits the nail on the head“. Im white, i cant relate to these problems. I think here u can see, why he is a great manager but first and foremost a great humanbeing. Amazing speech.

  8. Was a good speech but how couldve he miss the opportunity to call it out straight forward! Theyre silencing the victims of racism and they victim blame you. This speech is something like a gift for the audience to silence them! Its ok to listen to but its as weak as others talking around the real topic. Look closer and you will see the elephant in the room!

  9. I do agree with Vincet. What I think the problem for most people nowdays is, is politics at a larger scale. Us Europeans are being basically floded with all these immigrants who on the contrary to these sportsmen dont respect any aspect of our culture. And people are just fed up with staying silent. Which of course doesnt give anyone the right to be racist in any shape or form, especially on a football pitch and in the stadium. Although the situation created by the governments around NATO is exactly this what we are seeing. They want us to push and go against each other and generalizing everyone, which is not hard to do sadly, with virtually the whole world against Native european white people and then you have some braindead people who express that in the most wrongful way. But if you clearly look at the situation in Spain with over 500.000 illegal immigrants being pushed onto the native folk, who dont respect anyone, the tensions are higher than ever. But yes in general Vincet is right. ON the other hand Vinicius isnt doing himself a favor with his behavior, that has to be said. Cuz no other player gets this type of treatment no matter the skin color.

  10. naja man muss halt leider sagen, war es Rassismus oder eine Beleidigung? Laut Medien wurde er als "Schw…..el" beschimpft, was die Tat nicht weniger schlimm macht aber halt auch kein Rassismus ist ! in english: Well, unfortunately, one has to ask: was it racism or an insult? According to the media, he was called a “f***ing c***,” which doesn't make the act any less serious, but it's not racism either!

  11. Justice is a virtue. But we live in a time without virtue ethics. So you have to explain to people why unjust behavoiour is problematic. So it takes 11 minutes to explain to people not to victimize each other. Even though we've been saying it for centuries now.

  12. Quelle claque !

Merci pour le message, merci pour la mesure, merci pour la remise en perspective

La sortie la plus pertinente EVER venant d'un acteur du foot sur ce sujet

  13. I saw him reply on Peter Bosz when Bayern played PSV and was impressed by his sense of humor (Dutch football fan here). But this man is something else 🧠 what an example
