A Valley soccer coach had been working and saving his money before scammers wiped him out. He’s sharing his story to warn others about a scam he said sounded so real. Robby Jacobs, 26, a youth soccer coach, said scammers posing as a bank representative told him his money wasn’t safe, so he needed to take measures to secure it — but it was all a lie. By the time Jacobs learned it was a scam, it was too late. Jacobs loves coaching soccer. He’s been working with soccer teams for the past three years, doing what he loves, and saving his money.

Should have stayed in school instead of teaching soccer
So he was on the phone with “the bank” and walked in the bank, withdrew all his money and didn’t think to say anything to the telller, wtf? Something sounds fishy here or this guy is a complete M0ron.
people love fraud
Cmon man, really. U fell for this
Social Engineering attack. India is dedicated to this.
Why anyone would be banking with Wells Fargo to begin with after all the fraud they perpetrated on the American people is beyond me.
Let me guess…he's MAGA! Most gullible demographics ever.
This is a very common scam going on nowadays.
I guess he doesn't watch the news regularly otherwise he would know it was a scam.
Silly Humans
Robbie must be 12
"Sounded so professional". Banks don't call you to remove money from their bank. Nothing professional about that.
If your bank is telling you this or your so called bank hang up and call the bank yourself to verify…..
"They instructed him to withdraw"…
I'm sorry, but how can people be so GULLIBLE! And yes, I am "victim" shaming.
My consumer problem is SRP raising prices this year in November. Deciding to offset costs onto consumers for their “special projects”. SRP and its Board of Directors need to be investigated and give us answers as to why they are raising prices when they can just take it out of their own paychecks and shares. ABC15… do the right thing and investigate these frauds. SRP loves to make average people in the valley suffer more
One thing they didn't mention, and often news outlets are afraid to mention, is whether or not the fraudsters had foreign accents. Usually, the fraudsters are from India. If they did sound Indian and this guy still fell for the fraud, then he's a moron. Always call your bank directly to doublecheck on a text or email from "your bank."
uh, he is special.. who is supervising him?
Wells Fargo has a reputation for committing crimes.
Be careful of PayPal. They'll empty your account and you won't have any recourse. Just an FYI from someone it happened to.
No offense, but he’s an idiot lmao who seriously believes stuff like thwt
