I am going to ignore the number of weird dudes living in their parents' basements commenting about how much they hate the team and give a more objective view. Despite winning 9-1, it's clear to me that this is a rebuilding era for the USWMT. I would even argue that the current men's team is better P4P than the women's team. The last time this team was at it's peak was in 2015 at the WWC with Lloyd, Rapinoe, Wambach, Solo, etc. I realize they won in 2019, but they got away with a few squeakers during that tournament. This current team is just not quite there and it looks to me like it will take some time.

Looking at how many people went to this game and to think people are mad the women don’t get paid the same as the men. You get paid as much as you can bring in!
Uzbekistan's defense were flat footed most of the game and the goalie wandered way beyond from defending her goal on a number of goals. The actually earned goals?… Howell's and Sanchez. Howell showed some finesse, and luck, and Sanchez made a very clever move to catch the short side. All other goals….easy peazy. It was however a good match for the youngsters to get the feel of each other and came up with some good give and go.

I respect Uzbekistan for holding of US team for 24 minutes without a goal. USWNT is a beast. Not easy to hold them off that long

There is nothing wrong with playing a lower ranked team every now and then. This team has always played tougher teams and I'm sure they will at the appropriate time.

In Barcelona the last part of March and went to Barca Femeni (5-2) over Real Mad. on 3/30. Each team put 9 Spanish starters on the field. 16 of these starters (8 from each team) are on the 2022 national team. 9 staters (8 from Barca) were on the 2020 She Believes Cup and the 2019 WC teams that gave the US a very hard time. Watching the game, I could only think the US is going to have its hands full with a very experienced and practiced Spain.
What kind of competition is this? How is beating teams like Uzbekistan(third world country)helps you improve?Talk about setting the bar too low. No wonder they performed the Olympics horribly.

Stop watching the American players and watch their opponents. That will tell you more of the story than the score. Uzbekistan is the worst team I have ever seen, and the USWNT lets them have a goal. Their defense was non-existent, and the keeper looked like she had never played before. Was this some sort of joke?

This team has gone soft under Vlatko. In 15 and 19 this was a team ruthless killers who executed their game with merciless efficiency. You just don’t see that since Vlatko took over. If they had played a good team they would only have scored one of these.
Does not look like this squad will be able to beat England Netherlands or France if this is how they play. Beating Uzbek is like taking candy from a baby.
