  1. I think they take green because lets be honest they aren't making it out of the group stage so having some young players out and gaining experience would help the us in the long run

  2. I wonder would cue ball would say all of this about that bum Brek Shea, who just so happens to not play AT ALL for his club. Julian Green did fine. It's not like the US is gonna win the freaking World Cup, so we may as well get the next generation some kind of bleeding into the first team.

  3. I don't see why he (Julian Green) can't go to Brazil. He can go just to gain experience. Brazil does this ALL THE TIME. They take a young striker/forward between 17-19 years of age and they just sit on the bench and watch the games. It's better that they do this than go on vacation and not have any motivation to improve as a professtional.

  4. Again, Simon, 100% agree with you on the Green subject as well.  Pretty sure Jurgen just wanted to "cap tie"? him for the US.  Just in case he blows up!  Im sure he will, Im sure he will make a difference in 2018 as well, just like Johannsonn…

  5. 100% agree with Simon on the Jones scenario!  I've been saying it for the last year(to friends and family)… Please just run Bradley and Beckerman in the midfield together.  Jones plays like a sub, not a starter!  Jones thinks he's Bradley, trying to play long balls, and it doesn't work.  Bradley needs a workhorse behind him, and that's Beckerman!

  6. How is Green and different than someone like Brek Shea?  That last spot can be for experience/maybe a game changer. If we bring 3 forwards (Jozy, Arron, and Boyd/Wondo/EJ) and have Donovan and Dempsey up top, then WHY NOT have someone like Green in there?  I would much rather see Green who can maybe draw fouls rather than someone like Shea who gets upset and punts balls into the stands or flips the bird and goes back home and paints away his frustrations!

  7. I think that getting green more playing time would help home but he is a bright kid with tons of potential. I would give him a shot and see where it goes just because he was nervous doesn't mean a thing. I think in soccer in general we expect players to just out and be perfect.. Every player has had a bad game or has been nervous give the guy a chance and you're right Simon Borg is a tool..

  8. Yedlin and Green are too young. They need to play with our youth national teams before they play with the MNT. Beckerman in my opinion is the right choice for the player alongside Bradley.

  9. Borg is terrible…hoping a guy gets injured? That's terrible. Also, does Shea really deserve to go to Brazil over Green? I'm not saying Green should definitely go, but Bayern have already one the title, so I could see him getting some good minutes before the season ends. Remember, he was supposed to go on loan to Hamburg, but Pep nixed it because he wanted to keep him on the team.

  10. Man Simon you always find away to be negative and ugly towards the Us or players. I thoght gGreen did a good job and he played with urgency!

  11. U.S. need to bring in Wondo and consider Aaron Johannson. Julian Green isn't ready yet, but certainly one for the future. Altidore is definitely a questionable player this year in terms of form.

  12. I liked what I saw from Julian Green, he was taking on players 1 v 1 and the US should have had a free kick when Green was fouled on the edge of the box

  13. Lmao this bald guy has no idea what he's talking about. Of course Green won't be starting in Brazil and of course he's nervous, but this was the place to give him his first cap and show him that he has the staff and team supporting him. He's one for the future and Klinsmann fought for him because he knows what he'll bring in later years.

  14. Howard; Yedlin, Besler, Cameron, Johnson; Beckermen, Jones, Bradley; Zusi, Johannsson, Donovan with Dempsey and Altidore off the bench for the first game.

Jurgen doesn't have it in him, though. Beasley will play and Gonzalez will play.

  15. The bald guy obviously has never watched this game before. Green came on and showed something that no other US player could. He took players on, drew fouls, provided service albeit he did not have his bearings this being his first cap, and looked the winger and the technical quality that the US has never had before. He looks a player and has a bright future. Klinsmin did a great job getting him and if he makes the world cup squad it is because he provides something that you don't find much in the US. Also, it is people like this that dumb the game down for americans and this is why we lag behind the world in regards to this sport.

  16. I personally think that mexico should feel better because hey at least they didnt lose and they had way more important players missing than the usa but good game from both none the less.

  17. Beckerman is much more consistent than Jones defensively, and is a much better passer. If the US don't allow Bradley to boss the mid, they don't have a chance. I also feel that Brad Davis had another good game, he didn't do anything spectacular but he was able to calmly maintain posession and make good passes. I also agree about Julian Green. He played okay, but there is no way he's ready for the group of death

  18. Michael Parkhurst, Michael Bradley, Chris Wondowloski, and Kyle Beckerman were all great in the game. I agree about Julian Green, I don't think he is ready yet. Eddie Johnson goal should have been counted for.
