Very nice one touch passes that were getting the job done. Pretty good vision of placement and movement of other players. Much improved from some earlier matches in needling the thread thru to throw opponent off balance.

Pleasantly surprised. The Irish team didnt play badly, they were just outclassed. The US team passed the ball very well, used their speed to dominate, and weren't afraid to make difficult shots. I cant believe I'm writing this, but I actually enjoyed the game.

Putting things into perspective speaking as an Irish man, the mens team for the republic of Ireland sits easily below the bottom 50th of world soccer teams and the womens soccer team is even worst. Against the USA womans team always rated somewhere between number 1 or 2 as the best team globally, lambs to the slaughter. Dont read too much into this game result.

Thompson is amazing, especially considering how small in size she is. This team has so much young talent, and with the return of Rose Lavelle, they truly look scary. So good to see US women's soccer finally evolving and elevating it's level. That 'old guard' was really feeling stale.
