  1. who cares who rare they make that call the bottom line is canada was in violation and the ref made a good call the USA is simply the best soccer team ever period!!! thwy wen't on to be japan in the gold medal game to cement their legend status !!!! The USA womens team has won the last three olympic gold medals!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Rule says the goalie can't hold the ball for more than 6 seconds. They consistently held it for more than that, in an attempt to slow down the faster US team. Also, I don't think that stomping the face of an opponent is really good for the game either.

  3. usa played way better. if you're a good team you'll win in spite of a ref that you think may have cost you. canada shouldve had a player sent off. if that had happened it never wouldve been close to begin with. also canada had all of extra time to score but they couldnt. so you cant blame the ref

  4. I don't understand why people think the rules for big games are different than any other game of soccer. If the goalie is time wasting the ref has every right to make that call. Big game or not time wasting is an epidemic in big tournaments and let this be a warning to all of the other players who like to waste time while their team is winning. It was the right call, even if it is rare. Like i said, you can't just change the rules of the game because it's a semi final or a preseason match.

  5. I didn't even see that head stomp by Tancredi but I was wondering when the ref would card her and eventually throw her out since early in the game. Tancredi got away with sooooo many fouls. Ofc the Olympic refs for men & women have been ridiculously bad.

  6. I don't see why people are so sexist, I've been watching the USWNT since the Mia Hamm days when Wambach was the young kid. They've got a good team and they're some hot players on the team too. Everyone knows the mens team has harder competition, that's obvious.

  7. Then open your eyes and recognize the horrible calls for both sides. The USA over came the bad calls and won the game. That is what champions do. Losers complain about the refs.

  8. Simon Borg you are obviously not a USA fan, so don't tell us how we should feel. The biggest controversy was the "no red card" on Tancredi’s brutal, deliberate stomp on the head of Carli Lloyd. There is no doubt this was intentional and dangerous. The referee should have tossed Tancredi. If that would have happened, the score was tied 1 to 1 and Canada would be playing the remaining 35+ a player down. USA would have destroyed Canada and won the game either way. Simon you are a hack.

  9. Are you shitting me? The US Mens soccer team didn't even qualify for the Olympics, that's sad. They aren't as good as they used to be. I hope the US Womens get gold.

  10. what the hell does that matter? women vs women, men vs men. men and women are built differently so they can't vs each other and expect the women to win, women and men and great in their own way.
