You're also confused between soccer to football
💙💙💙
That's just American ignorance and arrogance.. it's expected..
In other words they are just like you 😂😂
I think its more aboit the entire football system in USA being for profit so that if youre a kid you need to be AT LEAST middle or upper middle class to afford all the fees and shit put on you when you join a youth programme. In Europe for the most part its like…. 100 dollars a year if that, and thats only if youre good enough to be accepted by your local youth team. The organisation pays gor everything because its a scouting programme, theyre looking for talent. In USA theyre just trying to make money off of parents thats it.
I feel like Americans in general just refuse to acknowledge that the number 1, 2, 3 4 5 6 7 and so on problem in their country is that in US EVEEEEERYTHING is for profit only, privatised and focused on making money NOW and not like it is in most of Europe. Like prisons; americans laugh at Norway, but nordic prison systems are focused solely on rehabilitation and not punishment only, so their recidivism is at like 50 or 40% whilst in USA its like 90% (im talking serious crimes), and the Norwegian system is actually cheaper for the most part too.
It sounds like he's referring to population when he's taking about the size of the country so is England really that small when it's population alone, never mind the rest of the UK, is over a quarter of the U.S.A's?
Just average americans. Full of ignorance who think they can just pay their way into winning without any development.
Such arrogance thinking they just know better than anyone else's even went they suck balls at something they would still be like arrogant. Landon is so right about this
Chelsea’s current owners are a clear example of what he’s talking about
They know everything about soccer. They just don't know a lot about football.
I couldnt give a flying crap about England and I'm far from the only one. International football in general is a pain in the arse and just gets in the way and causes more problems than it solves. The problem is that the USA doesnt have a club football culture, nor history to go with it. It has to evolve first.
Not called soccer for a starters 😂😂😂😂😂
Welcome to America.
Cause you called it soccer thats why you sh!te
This is 100% true. I coach with a UEFA licensed coach who has coached for city’s youth academy, Leeds etc. there are coaches who legit think they know more than he does about soccer and it’s pure arrogance.
I’m so tired of the people at the top being so arrogant into thinking they know what the problem is.
Coaches aren’t even in the top 10 of issues we have for the overall development of players.
I almost dont recognize him, that hair looks good
Agreed…they watch tik tok…and i had to play inder these coaches..so i played for Latinos..or with..great memories….
Well said Donovan, not only do they know nothing about Soccer (FOOTBALL) they just don't respect the sport
American, played LB LW, all my coaches preached a flat back 4. If I ventured too far past the half way line I’d get yelled at! 4 marking 1 or 2 didn’t make sense… I got yelled at ALOT!! 😅
He's right, but he sure comes across as an arrogant prick. I imagine he has a chip on his shoulder because he had success in a sport that his home country mostly doesn't give two shits about.
You call it the S word, you know nothing Landon.
There's also a stigma around playing soccer. At least there was about 10 years ago when I was still a kid playing. I got called all sorts of names for playing soccer instead of football, hockey, baseball, etc.
Donovan did nothing for the US idk why he getting a chair at the table lol #garbage
Listen Landon as a former collegiate soccer player you are fighting for something that will never happen. England is a soccer, rugby and cricket nation and the USA is a football, basketball, baseball and hockey nation. The best athletes in America don’t play soccer
In england grannies will watch the games and go mental when england score because it brings joy to their grandkids ! We all love the glorious game here.
Also Football/Soccer in 🇺🇸 is like the countries 4th favorite sport IF that. If we cared about the sport more bas a country; TOTALLY different story. We have freak athletes here, they just choose to play American sports.
For a start it’s called football not soccer.
I've been waiting for someone to recognize this for over a DECADE.
Second short where I'm watching the size thing is mentioned. Nonsense. Sport is cultural. Brazil is a pretty big country… Football is popular there and they pump out would class talent. It just isn't the culturally dominant sport. And realistically, it is unlikely to ever be.
There are other countries where football may not be the number 1 sport and that's okay. The issue with American soccer fans is they are so used to cultural hegemony they feel entitled to be the best and most popular . That's it.
The guy was a complete failure in Europe. Pulisic is the only one on a top-tier team consistent. You can argue Tim Howard played in the Premier league but he played for Everton. This guy couldn’t even make the second team. I don’t know why he’s spewing so much shit
Americans just don’t care about soccer. All the other sports are much more popular, it’s why we will never be great at soccer.
True
I know a few youths in Canada including my younger brother who were super stars in their youth. Played on the top teams with pure talent and not money. They got held back and most of the time, quit because the coach was arrogant who thought their bullshit didn’t stink. Even reserve the number 10 and number 7 shirts for their sub par sons. Dickheads
In Great Britain, there are practically no English players in the main teams)))
It's like that in England now though. Lots of coaches that have never even played a competitive match before, and in the Premier League they outnumber the ones that have.
I think there may be a bit of corporate sabotage going on.
MLS was getting a bit of traction a while ago.
As was the national side.
These coaches are 'sports coaches' and would rather be coaching US sports but never got the gig.
There is also a culture war raging in the USA.
I suspect the best future US players may well be spanish speaking.
The thicker someone is, the more convinced they are that they know everything.
For one thing it’s not called soccer.
Rolando is the goat
