So long as the nation's sports focus is elsewhere, we'll continue to suck at Soccer. Without the intl stars in MLS that league would be dead as well. I didn't even follow the USMNT in Copa America. I am watching Argentina's progress though. Messi, Martinez and di Maria.
They should get Alexis Lalas to coach. It seems like he has all the answers to getting the US to win.
What could be changed in US soccer:
– Fire the coach
– Implement Promotion/Regulation system in MLS
– Abolish Pay to Play system
– Aggressive promotion of the sport ⚽️
– Allocate more Federation funding for youth development.
– Better league partnerships with top European leagues.

Some people trying to blame the coach for the team losing which is ridiculous. How come the goalie did not catch the ball that was kicked to him instead of just knocking it right to the player to kick it into the goal that was his mistake not the coaches
Is everyone in the comments just blind, or did they not watch this game? The same game where the TERRIBLE referee did a number of awful consistent calls:
1. Clear offside goal
2. Allows for Uruguay to continue after a player down and a yellow card shown???
3. Waits for Pulisic to break away with a clear advantage before calling the free kick back for the US
4. Refusing to shake Pulistics hand
5. In the USA vs Panama game, he was the forth referee, and was in charge of added time. When there should have been 15+ minutes of added time, he gives 4, which was not enough for the USA to equalize

I think we can all agree that this ref was stupid but the only thing that I got mad at was the goalie and the ref. I got mad at the goalie because when they scored he couldn’t catch the ball and that’s why they scored, I got mad at the ref because USA got fouled 2 times by we had a breakaway and a Uruguayan player was pulling his shirt, NO FOUL. And another one got sandwiched by 2 people, and you can’t pull a yellow card out and say keep playing. I am so glad ream was there to save the ball. But I will say WHO PAID THE REF

Ok let’s get to the obvious. Referee was pro Uruguay, and at the end wouldn’t shake hands with Captain America. So many missed or bad calls. He should be removed as a referee at this level and an investigation done as this performance seemed highly prejudicial against the USA.
Second, the commentators who fail to acknowledge this as a reason that the USA didn’t play at the optimum level is an issue. Commentators talk big but they failed at times to.
Third the treatment level of teams at the Copa is different, such as accommodations, referees chosen. At issue!
Last offsides is offsides and while teams and players don’t want to say anything I will. If the COPA fails to do anything about this, America should step away as it is not in their best interest to play in fixed tournaments.
