Such a blatant uncalled penalty for Ukraine. As usual, both the field ref and VAR only see what they want to see.

Not quite sure why Italy had to play in their white, away kit and not their regular all-blue one…? It's sad to see Italy play and not win games that Germany, France, Spain, Portugal etc. would win without problems. They would have would have probably torn Ukraine apart. This should be penalty – the inconsistency between handballs, penalties, red cards is just killing the football. The only thing that VAR is doing is calling 1 mm offsides.

VAR was run by 3 refs in the booth. All refs on this game including 3 VAR refs were from the same country and league. Center ref is typically the senior guy so maybe VAR refs were hesitant? 🤷♀ Why didn’t they at least send him to the monitor. VAR refs should be a mix of refs from different leagues and one vote should be enough to send center to the monitor.

My point is, if this was Italy the penalty would be 100% against Ukraine. But nevertheless match is over and we must look forward to play-offs. With objective opinion Italy won't make it far in the Euros, Donnarumma is the best player there is for Italy. Italy against Macedonia 1:1 and 5:2, Italy against England lost two games, and had draw against Ukraine along with a win 2:1. Well, Ukraine in the final result even shared points with Italy, so to be happy for such close qualification from a world class team is pity. I would like to see Italy play England or other world class teams. And please do not call the game rigged if in those games Italy gets a penalty and looses. What you sow you shall reap.
Unfortunately Mudryk oversold it, but whats more unfortunate is the ref didnt even go have a look…sad, that Ukraine being in a war can't even get a fair chance. Very sad
