I think the hardest things for us non-Americans is that we always assumed that your democracy was stronger than any one man. Trump has proven that even in the US most people in positions of power would rather protect their position and keep their bit of power rather than stand up for what’s right.
I guess it just proves that (most) politicians are in it for the wrong reasons and aren’t trying to improve anything other than their own wallets and egos.
