Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta and Sergio Busquets were warming up for a training session earlier this year at the Ciutat Esportiva. They decided to see how long they could keep the ball in the air by passing the ball amongst themselves, but touching the ball with both feet each time. The result was captured on video and makes for incredible viewing.
Trying out ball tricks like this is nothing unusual in football. It’s the kind of thing you’ll see people doing in playgrounds all around the world. But rarely, if ever, will you see the exercise performed so exquisitely as Xavi, Iniesta and Sergio do here. Their level of ball control is simply staggering.

Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta y Sergio Busquets protagonizaron uno de los ejercicios de habilidad más destacados del año 2014 que, aprovechando que ya termina, volvemos a recordar. Los tres centrocampistas azulgranas se unieron durante el calentamiento previo a un entrenamiento en la Ciudad Deportiva. La misión: no dejar caer el balón al suelo haciendo siempre dos toques, uno con cada pie.
Los ejercicios de habilidad son habituales en los ratos previos a los entrenamientos del primer equipo. Que facilidad es impresionante. El detalle de controlar con una pierna y pasar siempre con la otra pierna los tres es increíble. Eso no está al alcance de muchos futbolistas.

Back in those days, players were not so serious and only performance focused in training.
They were enjoying too. Psychologically they were not bound to the pressure of producing result.
Result was in fact a byproduct of their chill training.
