  1. Ask the Brazilian player who got fouled to pick, and they'll probably say yellow and penalty kick over red and no penalty kick. Balance decision by the referee. The Columbian probably felt she got kneed a bit or something accidentally and retaliated a bit too hard accidentally. πŸ˜…

  2. If the foul would have happened outside the penalty area, this is absolutely a red card.
However, the Laws of the Game clearly state that if the offense is inside the penalty area and the restart will be a penalty kick, the card awarded has to be yellow as to not punish the affected team twice.
This is common knowledge for referees, but understand fans are not privy to this.

  3. These referees need to be judged on some calls the ball was nowhere near the player was not protected by the referee this could be a severe neck injury to the player could have ended player Carrera.

  4. Intentional, red all day long… But if I say what I'm thinking why it was called incorrectly, I'll be criticized to oblivion.

But I'll say it anyways, women football is still growing and evolving. Professional women football has lots to catch up to mens. Not only in entertainment but in quality. Professional Men's football has over 80+ years over women's, so referees are used to dirty tricks, and falsehood of players that attempt to injure others while avoiding penalty. Sometimes it will be missed, but with VAR nowadays is is almost impossible to miss.

Any men referee would have called this a red, because there is intention to hurt the player. VAR calling the ref to review it should tell you that something is wrong with the officiating since it should have been called there, but when the referee reviews and draws a yellow instead of red indicates lack of understanding/ruling, or team preference.

I am pretty sure with years of experience this type of calls will be call correctly in the future, but as of now this is a why there is a huge gap between men's and women's football.

  5. Pretty sure they don't award a penalty kick and a red card, one or the other. Same with a hand ball in the box. It was only a yellow card because it was in the box for a PK. had it been outside the box and no PK, would have been red

  6. RED !!! Dirty Colombian!! And they still lost 🀣

    Go Brazil !! πŸ‡§πŸ‡· πŸ‡§πŸ‡· πŸ‡§πŸ‡· πŸ‡§πŸ‡· πŸ‡§πŸ‡· πŸ‡§πŸ‡· πŸ‡§πŸ‡·

  7. You can see the blue girl kicks the yellow one while on the ground which is why the yellow one head butts her on way up. But the funnier part is the yellow one then to fake it…throws herself over the blue girl to play it off as a accidental crash.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  8. Man refs are really bad even with video replaysπŸ˜‚literally goes through the girls head then stands over her so she couldn’t get up if she tried. Eyes tell it all, one looking and one not
