The issues is at Arsenal Gabriel Jesus, Trossard and Saka used to do that but they ended up getting kick to the ground and refs would do nothing to protect them. Dowman is playing like that and watch how the refs and pundit will call him out if he ever complain about getting kick left and right

He doesn't explain why Arsenal took 30 mins to restart play against Brighton. That's why they are boring to watch. Delay, waste time, block out on a corner, and hope for a messy goal.
Henry is the Goat of Video Breakdown. I hope he never leaves this job. Also everyone calls him the goat or at least top 3, but you can blame Pep Guardiola for the reason the game is played like this today. Arteta was Pep's assistant at City then went to arsenal and instilled the same system. The tactic today is you play within the system or you wont play. This is why we don't have the Eden Hazards and Gareth Bales in the game today. That would go on 50 yards runs on there own. Because players are to afraid of not playing the next game.
What’s boring football? The goal of the team is to win the game. I enjoy watching them play and win. There are no points for being entertaining in football. There’s even no measure for the so called entertaining football, so who cares. If you don’t enjoy seeing arsenal play it’s no wonder you are a fan of Liverpool, man utd, man city, and other clubs. Since your team can’t win games you bring this boring and useless debate online. Games are won in 90 minutes of play on the pitch.

Titi is correct. Great analysis. Low block football slows the game down, they don't want to jump. They shift. The answer is playing quicker from the middle third before the low block develops, but that requires risk and Arteta would rather have control.

I respect Henry's take but our main issue is the absence of Thomas Partey. When the Ghanian left, Rice started to play more a 6 (I've been impressed with his overall game to be candid) but he's truly an 8 in the Yaya Toure mold with his athletic ability. Furthermore, Rice has to baby sit Zubimendi who has no physical presence and his manipulation on the ball is not as good as the Ghanian. In addition to that, our right sided corridor of Saka and Odegard worked best with the Ghanian because they were able to isolate Saka to take on a full back by overloading that side. Arteta is a very clever manager but Zubimendi lack of defensive presence has destabilized our defensive transitions. Let me add this is why Lewis Skelly can't play because Rice nowadays takes the position he used to occupy because he's really not a full back.
Henry ought to have added that teams on the low-block also have a facility with possessing the ball. For example, if you press Brentford up high your defensive transition will get found out because they can string together three or four passes and move it upfield. Furthermore, with Villa, Morgan Rodgers is a nightmare because his hard running will destabilize your CBs largely because he drives the ball up the middle like Kaka.

I’ve actually never thought about football this way. Totally opened my eyes to this evolution. Also explains why we don’t see many Neymars or Hazards because of the psychological effects of systematic tactics driven into todays game.
I think this is why Arsenal fans are enamored w Max Dowman right now. He has the charisma to take on defenders and get something.
