  1. Love these. However, surely the free kick for holding up the game will use up more time? It takes time to set up the free kick, plus there are more opportunities for the opposing team to mess with the free kicks, thereby wasting more time. Bookings won't deter anything at that time.

I'd like to see time stop when play stops – like rugby and basketball – and get rid of additional time (where there's more opportunity for time-wasting). I want to see 90 full minutes of football, which is not what we see now. This is not a tough ask. Rugby and basketball players, fans, broadcasters and grassroots organisations have adapted to the idea; why can't football?

  2. I like one rule in rugby: "When a player that was subbed in, gets injured within the first 10 minutes after being subbed in, the player that was subbed out, can return." I think that would be a great rule in football too.

  3. I would say Titi's on to something with ref having to give a press conference. These days he's almost a bigger part of the game than the game it self of the players. Abby New Ear!

  4. I also think the referee should explain a decision on microphone at the moment right before restarting play. Like in Rugby or American Football and especially so when it's following a VAR decision. I also think Judges in Boxing should do post fight interviews

  5. The temporary sub rule is already in place for us soccer at least for youth and amateur leagues I ref. So quick explanation if head injury he can be subbed while being assed and once cleared can come back on subbing the guy back out and it doesn't count towards a sub.

  6. 1. Add a time ref whose entire job is to stop the clock when the ball is not in play. This will show on the ref’s watch and the scoreboard clock.

    2. If you roll around in the ground and there is no foul, you are taken off the field and have to be subbed (if you want to act like that’s the worst pain you’ve ever been in then you obviously wouldn’t be able to play like that). This won’t stop diving entirely but it will stop the dramatics that look so stupid and gives the sport a bad name.

    3. Love the point for 3 goals or more. Maybe a point for a clean sheet too. Maybe only if you win with a clean sheet to avoid 0-0. And it could be every 3 clean sheets. But at least the 3 points or more for sure.

    4. Yellow card you’re off the field for 5 minutes playing a man down. Yellow card if you blatantly dive.

    5. Mic the refs.

    6. Add line cameras similar to goal line for out of bounds. At least the out of bounds at the end.

  7. It's nice to see a football show actually have FUN for once! 😂So many pundits, especially in England and Spain, are just brutally harsh on the athletes and sport itself and it just feels so miserable at times. Getting the Inside the NBA footy version is a blessing to have!

  8. If you score from your own half, you get 3 goals. If you score outside D but within the opponent's half, you get 2 goals (Deflections inside D will make it 1). If you score from D, you get 1 goal only. Like basketball, wrong penalties would not hurt that much. That means if you are losing 3-0 and score a last-minute goal from your own half, you can make it 3-3.

  9. for me the most important and easy change would be to stop the clock if the ball is out of bounds or the game has stopped (like before a free kick)

  10. I would immediately red card any grown man, elite footballer who is challenged and leaps 4 feet in the air with his hands covering his face before hitting the ground and rolling 57 times down the pitch in mock agony.🤡🤡🤡🤡s acting like this put the game into disrepute and is not a man

  11. Everybody is against time wasting untill you're team your team is defending a 1-0.I believe a team earns the right to time waste by actually not conceding.Dark arts is part of the game

  12. The change of rules regarding concussions comes from the 2006 world cup final, where he collided with Cannavaro and was then rushed by the doctors to get back on the pitch.

  13. There are so many things football could learn from Rugby in particular talking back to the referee, surrounding and abusing him gets a free kick advanced to a more advantageous position.
