  1. I get what Henry is saying but Low key it works, They don’t have the midfielders or players to defend another way. The problem in this game and in general is their CBs outside of Araujo are not athletic. Cubarsi is good on the ball but his positioning and decision making on that first goal was trash.

  2. We all know it, Barca never mind conceding 2-3 goals, their strategy is always scoring more goals than opposition. Joan Garcia might save few goals as well when he comes back

  3. If Guardiola changed his long held philosophy about possession ball, I think you have to start to take notes — the game has changed. The wingers evolved from conventional way of playing into a more direct play.

  4. Thierry Henry is catering to the popular fan sayings, "High Line Got Exposed" rather using his own two brain cells to form his own opinion on this. That's the problem with Henry, he only goes with popular, commonly based takes and only seldomly applies his own perspective to it

High line didn't got exposed even last season if Lamine would have scored that, Oh how these same people would have praised him but the defending from the Barça's side turned out to be piss poor especially when you have a new young defender (Araujo) who had came on the pitch and couldn't defend against an old man, former Cancer patient Acerbi

Yesterday it happened again because Barcelona doesn't have a good bench strength especially in attack. In comparison to PSG, who brought on the likes of Kang In Lee, Ramos to replace their tired attack of Barcola, Mayulu

Pedri was really tired with the carrying he was doing in midfield and once he was replaced with Casado (who is quite average enough to play against the likes of Spanish side) and Bernal (coming from ACL), they lost their dominance in midfield. It was Game over right then and there

  5. I've been saying this since last season but it also won titles so Fliick is doing something right. However, if you're going to keep using it you also need FAST wing backs with the stamina of Chelsea's Kante that can keep up with players like Nuno mendes, Dembele, and Hakimi but Barca also can't afford new players.

  6. The thing is that PSG only scored basically last minute & Barca became less competitive after subs in the second half. The highline, seems scary & risky initially but people forget how effective it has been for Barça, even against the best teams. Let's be real, even with subs, Barça conceded a last minute goal against the best team in the world. It's not like they're getting exploited day in, day out by bums. Barca suffered in the second half of the second half after those subs & then the highline got exploited. People project their fear of of the risk of the highline & have been since Barca started playing it & suddenly when they finally got exploited, people are now raving about the highline like it always has been inherently suicidal.

It took the European champions to exploit it & even then it was last gasp after questionable subs. PSG by no means, dominated the game. I respect Thierry but this take is mostly reactionary, let's not forget what actually happened.

    That said, we still lost

  7. This Barca high line is not a problem untill it's exposed 💯, it shortens the pitch hence makes Barca attack the opponents easy and frequently but once the offside trick fails, it's over so we have to make sure we don't lose any big chance we get, security of a lot of goals can save us from late draws or losses, we have to master the offside trick and be fast with it, otherwise we can never get a clean sheet😢

  8. Barca didn't lose because they gave up 2 goals. They lost because they aren't scoring goals like they did last year. That is because both Rashford and Yamal are not producing goals like Lewy and Raphinha were last year. Raphinha being out is hurting their output. Rashford needs to step it up and start scoring. After playing almost 10 games he has to get more than 2 goals. Ferran is our leading scorer.

  9. Problem was high line also with the Lack of intensity it was so lazy like the whole team was standing , like this they will loose with 8 goals again .

  10. Actually Barca kind of stopped doing this in La Liga this season so why Flick decided to revert to high line against PSG of all teams is baffling to say that very mildly.😊 This style cost them against Inter in the SF and tonight if Dembele and Kvara were on the pitch this could have ended in total embarrassment.

  11. He's absolutely right.. The highline has been exposed, and keeps getting exposed.. Flick needs to stop this, especially in big games. Our defense is overrated too
