The issue is that they right now seem to lack good players in some positions, for example we have been without a proper good CF since Benzema left, thats why we dont play 4-3-3, secondly Carvajal is getting old, he does not have the same speed and touch he used to have (even though he is still great) and our center backs are getting old aswell Alaba and Rudiguer for example, on top of all this we need a good LB because both Mendy and Garcia does not cut it. So if we get Mbappe we have solved our front trio, if we get Davies then we are almost perfect. That leaves a good RB alongside a good CB. This is an example, but Tribaut, Davies, Tomori, Militao, Hakimi/Arnold, valverde, Belimgham, Tcouameni, Vini, Mbappe, Rodri would be great.
Because keep in mind that when we where at our best we had Marcelo, Varane, Ramos, Carvajal, Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale. He have done great with what we have but still Carlo has areas to improve.

Kroos is, was & always been better than players like Modric, Xavi & Iniesta . Kroos is one of a kind, no player in history was or is like Toni Kroos & it's kinda sad nobody sees it, they just see him as part of the success, not the reason for it . Everyone will see the impact of Toni Kroos at Real Madrid the day he leaves .
And if everything does not work there are refs to help a bit
