  1. To be fair, Ali Dia has played more Premier League minutes than 99.99% of us will ever achieve. Not all of those missing out could do worse…

  2. Souness should just admit that occasionally as a manager you have to trust and rely on others without doing the homework yourself and this occasion it did not work

  3. So he deliberately played someone who had no experience despite the fact playing a goalkeeper as a striker would have been a better option? And then he gets rid of him afterwards instead of keeping him incase they needed atleast someone on the bench like they apparently did? Make it make sense lmao

  4. Graham Souness is full of rubbish. He’s had his pants pulled down and thought he was decent so decided to give him a chance. If Dia has scored we’d be talking about a whole other story. 😅

  5. In the clip Graeme says there was 2 up front, Le Tissier went off and he had a bench full of Wingbacks and Centerbacks. Surely if he thought the boy was that bad he'd just throw an extra centerback on and go 5-4-1?

  6. How the hell do you end up in a position where you literally have no other strikers at all in the entire infrastructure of the club and end up playing literally a guy off the streets? Souness is clearly embarrassed by that story.

  7. The story doesn't check out, if he was really that bad, he still wouldn't have been on the bench, they would have taken players from the reserve squad. Souness got conned.

  8. Matt Le Tissier clearly says on another video interview "I'm not sure how a man of Graham's experience fell for that." He knows the truth as we all do. Graham was conned, and he is trying to hide his embarrassment with a concocted story. The idea that he would bring Dia on instead of anyone else on the bench, if he knew how terrible he was, is ridiculous.

  9. This could have never happen today. Teams scouting networks are so complex and so well organized nowadays that they could quickly realise the guy is faking a football career. In that way, we can say that Ali Dia was lucky that we got that "opportunity" at the right era.
