  1. xG was better when FBref and Stathead were available. Now we can't have access to these important sources of information because some gambling apps put pressure on FIFA…
    you should talk about that

  2. A huge flaw imo, is it doesn’t take into account the player! If Haaland and Maguire get the same chance, it counts as the same XG…and I’m sure we can all see the obvious problem with that 🤷🏻‍♂️

  3. xG is a stat which takes many seasons to show what people could just as easily see with their eyes. xG wasn't around in the 90s but it was pretty obvious that Brazilian Ronaldo was more likely to convert a chance than Gareth Southgate.
It's a bunch of nonsense linked to betting companies therefore linked to making more money to line the EPL's pockets.

  4. Surely Werner's shot can't have the same xG Haaland's shot from the same area. For instance JWP's XG for a free kick should be the same as say Nicolas Jackson. I believe XG should be player specific. Calculate number of shots a Player has taken from that position and how many he scored. Not how many shots have been taken from that position by all players

  5. Its a glorified paperweight statstic that means next to nothing. You can have a crap xg and get a last minute goal. Your team can have a crap xg over multiple games and suddenly rout someone.

You only made it up because you think "xg" sounds cool and so that betting companies have a new product to flog.

  6. Stop using XG in your programmes, it's neither smart, nor clever, or of importance or meaningful whatsoever to the vast majority of viewers and football fans.

  7. Is a performance of a metric in football that measures the probability of a shot resulting in a goal, based on historical data from thousands of similar shots. It came across by a 2.4% of ball average in goal 🧠
