The Most Dangerous Soccer Field 🏟️🤕

I was watching this clip of Messi and couldn’t believe how bad the field was, so I decided to look into it… Turns out, it’s worse than I ever could have imagined. This could be the most dangerous field in professional soccer. 🤕🏟️

Why? Because technically it’s not even a football pitch. For the last decade, MLS side NYCFC has shared a stadium with the New York Yankees—a less than ideal arrangement for several reasons:

A. It’s too small. 70×100 yards is exact minimum size requirement to play in the MLS.

B. The sod. In order to cover the infield, the club has to lay out strips of sod before almost every match. While this looks the part—it really isn’t effective, mainly because it’s not rooted to the ground, making for terrible pitch conditions whenever it’s too wet/dry.

Pretty shocking this sort of thing is allowed in professional footy, but ig space is a pretty big commodity in NYC. What do you guys think? #football #messi #soccer #sports #futbol #fail #shorts #footballshorts

  1. This is exactly why the raider nation insisted that they play on real grass and not turf even if it was inside a stadium. The rollout technology is amazing.😊

  2. He chose this, he’s smart and he knew they didn’t invest much in football stadiums in the US and he still wanted to go. Messi has already won everything that matters at club and international level. He’s just passing time in the USA.

  3. I'll pick an all star team of under 20 boys from Europe who would crush this league to the ground with laughter on their faces. imagine we send Guler, Hendrick, Yamal, N. Williams, Mainoo, Palmer, Mateta, Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund , Cubarsi, etc with any gk and defenders to add to thus squad . They'll bury Messi and Suarez and busquet lol😂

  4. Yeah thas a huge problem even for the WC cause US doesn't have many stadiumms that are reglamentary most football stadiuns are to narrow missing at least 2 meters.
