What drama on the final matchday in Bundesliga 2! The race for promotion was an incredibly close-run affair. SV Darmstadt 98 eventually completed a miracle, writing their name into the history books. Their fairytale rise from the third division to the Bundesliga is now a reality following a 1-0 final-day win. The three-way battle for the final direct-promotion spot and the play-off place also saw Karlsruher SC secure a two-legged tie against Hamburger SV in a shootout for Bundesliga status. The biggest losers were 1. FC Kaiserslautern, who finished in an agonising fourth place. There were pure emotions across the division on the final matchday.

If anybody that only watches top teir of bundesliga, Well the story is 2 years ago They were relegated from 3. Bundesliga but since the team that was supposed to be promoted didn't have a licence they stayed at 3. Bundesliga but now They are in Top flight of bundesliga because of back to back promotions in the last 2 years=)
