  1. He's tired, and this leads him to taking positions that require less effort as both a passing option and as a defensive aid. I know some people will disagree with me, but if you've played football as a box-box (which is basically what Arsenal midfielders are outside of the CDM) you're most likely aware of what I am saying. Personally what I did was stick in the 6/8 slot because usually from there I can stop attacks and drive up the field without having to exert much. Then again I have never went pro so I could be very wrong.

  2. Maybe Arteta's negative system is what limits Odegaard. Not enough people bombing forward for him to deliver his nice passes to.

  3. Arsenal's key players didn't play enough together this season to get momentum goin for extended periods. Granted individual form is down to the player but the team's form does affect it. Saka wasn't making pockets for him to exploit or give him a pass to another top class player. They need quality depth.

  4. I wouldn't write him off. Considering he's got 15 goal contributions in the league despite missing the two months with injury, he's fine and still provides some leadership for them along with stability. Rice is performing well and has worn the armband before at another club so I get some of the calls for him to wear the armband, but Odegard isn't done yet.

  5. He was rushed back from the injury he sustained against Austria. It's tougher for him considering Saka was out, Gabi has been poor and no out and out forward ahead of him to create chances for.

  6. Declan wearing the armband wouldn't change much, the way the Arsenal leadership is, the armband means nothing more than an official representative for coin tosses and speaking to the ref. You can see it on the pitch, Declan, Martin and Gabriel call the shots during the game. But the arm band will go to Jorginho or Bukayo if Martin isn't on the pitch. Martin is very much an integral part of the team, what has shifted isn't just the Declan is having the season of his life at the moment, his role has shifted signicantly. He is being utilised as a much more aggressive midfielder than he was last season. As for Martins drop off in G/A, 15 isn't bad, considering the injury he suffered in the first half of the season and the lack of a an actual striker to supply. He's been doing well considering he's playing with his legs tied at the moment

  7. It’s an attacking midfielder being given the role of carrying an attack, without a number 9. It’s quite a stretch to say he’s fallen off when his position is useless at Arsenal without a proper striker

  8. Arsenal could humble themselves just to get european conference league trophy but somehow would stumble on semifinal and blaming odegaard.

The whole squad of Arsenal is problematic. They cant consistently defend, cannot score for a comeback, winning when only scoring first, can't even beat middle class epl team.

  9. The locker and the players should vote for the captain, if he is really a leader his teammates will elect him but fans should not dictate who should or should not be the captain

  10. 15 Ga, not end of the season. 2 Months out. attacking injury’s around him.
And weaker arsnal side, that still could be going to the ucl final.

I would argue, this could be his best season yet if drops 2-3 world class performances. In the next 3-5 games.

Weaker season but some people in football have short term memory / no logic sometimes.
