  1. gus was a good manager build foundations off a decent side playing tidy football just missing a bit off a cutting edge in the final third off the field .needed a decent striker but thay very expensive owners bought trash .

  2. Oldham, Premier League, 1992-93. by far the greatest escape ever. 8 points off survival with 3 games to go. We had to play second placed Aston Villa away and we beat them, Man United became champions on that day for the first time since the sixties. Last game of the season was Southampton at home, 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 3-2, 4-2, then 4-3, Le Tissier hat-trick, talk about squeaky bums.

  3. Newport County had a better great escape in 16/17. 11 points a drift with 12 games to go. After 8 wins, on the final day, Mark O'Brien scored an 89th minute winner to keep Newport in the football league. Scenes
