    Barcelona are literally three defensive upgrades away from a real UCL charge. Give them two high-end full-backs like Hakimi and Nuno Mendes, plus a powerhouse centre-back such as Upamecano, Van de Ven, or Nico Schlotterbeck, and this coach with this attacking unit becomes a Champions League problem for everyone.

    Look everyone…… People See Gerard Martin not at the level of playing in the first team….. this is due to the fact that he's a defensive fullback as he's not with the norm of traditionality of Attacking FBs that Barca are comfortable to play with their system…. defending in back days and now a days is different…. now due to the directness of our attack we need Defensive FBs to bolster our defence and make some brilliant runs midway of match and creating surprise elements for opponents……

    So, coming to Martin, he's tall, has physique and a very good low through pass skill,,,,, if staff works on his dribbling, control in tight spaces and defending and use of more physicality(extensive gym schedule would help)….surely he'd be a very bright future considering the changes that football is witnessing….. like attacking could be done by CMFs/DMFs regularly… the need is to strengthen your defence so that u win titles……. winning 6-0,5-0 in league eludes when u lose even 4-3 in UCL Semis.

    Martin Could be Maldini for Barca…(No comparison but only logic simply)

    For more defensive security based on recent defensive failure with high line, put Gerard on LB as he’s done well every time they’ve given him minutes as he also did good against PSG. Also put Bernal instead of Frankie as he can help in the back line with physicality and interceptions overall with his height but also involved offensively with Pedri by building up plays from the back.
