  1. Cruijf also had once on a world cup a weird indirect penalty taken for my country.

He just send it aside but slowly. The goalie was flabbergasted and moves way to late towards the ball, the other incoming Dutch player sends it back to Cruijf and 100% sure a goal!

    Brilliant isnโ€™t it?

  2. I saw it when Zamalek played against Asante Kotoko in 1993 in Cairo. Game was tied after extra time and then a young Nader El Sayed came in for Hussein El Sayed during the penalty shootout. I believe he saved 2-3 that day and Zamalek won the African champions league trophy. Al Ahly had just won the cup winners cup a few days earlier.

  3. And against Argentina in the semis, they decided to use up all their substitutions. Subbing off RVP & Robben, not subbing in Krul and starting the TB with defenders. I was convinced Van Gaal was paid by FIFA to help Messi reach the final.

  4. i remember this 11 years ago, i was sitting with my older brother and my dad watching the world cup at my dads place, Tim Kruul came on and saved every penalty, their following match they played Argentina, it went to extra time, Kruul didnโ€™t come on, and Cillisen stayed on and didnโ€™t save a single penalty, ny dad turned around and said to me โ€if Van Gaal had only brought in that long haired goalkeeper again Netherlands wouldโ€™ve gone to the final vs Germany and won the World Cup, my memory is like a gold fish yet i remember sequences like this๐Ÿ˜‚,

the brain is a funny thing

  5. I'm a goalkeeper too and this is legendary ๐Ÿ˜‚
I had a similar experience.. I was the starting keeper all season, but I had a few bad games where I made Onana level mistakes and cost us a game or two.
So I was benched for a cup game. I wasnt used to being on the bench at all since I always started as number. 1.
The game went to extra time and the coach called me up because we were certain there would be penalties soon.
Im obviously the best penalty stopper so they had no choice..
I got subbed on and made a good pen save, and I made the other guy so nervous with my movements that he missed the other penalty and we won the shoot out๐Ÿ˜‚ it's a beautiful feeling and I never got benched again..
Sometimes keepers have nervous moments like with Onana.. But I'm fed up with him ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ time to go. If I could bounce back then he should be able to
