Ain’t no way all of them are dead after they put on the headset. There’s no way that all of them were loners with no one to check up on them. No friends, family, roommates, colleagues or neighbors would check on them if they suddenly disappeared? Maybe…. or their bodies are alive and well and carrying on with their normal lives and the people in the game are just a digital copy of their consciousness that Cain activates when he needs more players because he’s bored, and people tend to leave the game. And he doesn’t like that. This way he has almost complete control and he never has to be lonely. If if one of the abstracts, he can just load in another player. He could have a back catalogue of profiles waiting to be activated. I mean it’s a pretty big coincidence that pomni arrived just as Kafmo abstracted right? like that is too big a coincidence to be ignored. I think Pom was just next in line after Kafmo abstracted. I think that’s why there’s no escape from the circus. Also, why would someone find an abandoned headset attached to a dead body and then put it on? it just makes more sense that nobody died.
