Usually when FIFA opens the process to bid for a World Cup, it does it with enough time for prospects to explore, investigate and dictaminate if they have chances to bid (solo or joint), and that time is given to just express intention to bid, so they can make a more formal investigation to officially bid afterwards.
Not with 2034, though.
On October 4th, 2023, Infantino went and said that interested nations had until October 31st, 2023 to express intentions to host. Just 25 days to do a process that takes 4-6 months. Within minutes, Saudi Arabia expressed intentions.
The Australian bid was left with 25 days to investigate if they could put a bid, and explore any joint bid (with Indonesia or New Zealand). 25 days for that is more than rushed, so they declined.
Everything was done so Saudi Arabia could get the hosting rights.
I mean, Infantino happily announced that Saudi Arabia were officially the hosts of the 2034 World Cup on October 31st, 2023 (the deadline he rushed), despite no official voting had been done (I know, only one candidate… but it was still NOT official).

All these football pundits are gonna get a reality check when their posh cars run out of fuel and these 'dirty' middle eastern countries put prohibition on selling petroleum to their foot ball heritage countries. Or their posh designer brands are gonna start charging 5 times the current price because of shipping would be hard to provide in absence of diesel. Or their private jets couldn't fly because of the same reasons.
Unless fifa redoes the World Cup cycle rule, does that mean that North America may host it again in 2038? Australia is part of Asia for context. I hope that those 3 games in Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina don’t count as conmebol hosting a World Cup

If FIFA was not corrupt like we all know that they are, the iberian peninsula and South America would have their own world cup to themselves in different cycles. Infantino and his cronies need to cash in on that oil money before they retire.
Let the Saudis have their WC. It's not like the US that gets one every 20 years (even though they don't even like the sport), or Europe that gets 1 in 3. I know that Europe is more than 1 country, but they are so close, it doesn't really matter that much. This should be the last arabian cup for a while, though.
And in 2038 it has to be in North America (or Oceania) which will make at least one of the big NA Nations host another world cup 12 yers after the next one…
