  1. I'm from Malaysia. We've been to the WC exactly one in our history, and never in my lifetime. I'd love to watch our country compete, even if I'm 100% sure we'll get destroyed

  2. This needs to be labeled as an ad for FIFA. It is not a good thing to have 64 teams clogging app the schedule at the World Cup. There is a reason that we have regional playoffs. Before the World Cup, if those teams want to make it, they need to win there.

  3. Why not including the qualifiers into theain tournament?
All teams worldwide could participate in World Cup. Playing the first rounds in close to countries areas for no big travelling costs and getting the WC to around the world.
More games, all nations and probably play it over 3 months in summer to get no break to all the players….
    Omg…

  4. Essentially it means more games and therefore more money for the powers that be. We’re already pushing players too much in domestic leagues and international friendlies. If those international friendlies were replaced with a more extensive set of qualifying rounds, that’s fine. But merely increasing the number of teams in the World Cup not only increases the amount of games played so frequently in a short period of time, it washes away some of that prestige that comes with the World Cup. Amend the qualifiers, not the World Cup tournament itself
