Cincinnati defender is past the shoulder (and elbow) of the Union player if you look at the Cincinnati players' right shoulder and knee. If the lines on the field are straight, this is offside.

Everyone here, along with other sports fans, CONSTANTLY complain about how the refs should not decide the final outcome on a bad call. This league continues to be a clown show. Why have VAR if it isn’t used in the most important moments of the most important games? PRO referees and Garber deserve each other. This season has been a dumpster fire.
As a Union fan I don’t know what to think of. We played at the same pace and tempo. We were actually looking like we might pull this one out. But like every sport, refs f up. I’m not angry I’m just more confused why they didn’t even look at it? I mostly blame this on Kai Wagner. Why did he say that!

I love how ESPN idiotically puts it, "A video review upheld the goal, despite replays suggesting that Ian Murphy may have been offside when he played a header across goal to set up Mosquera's finish." That's the way it works. "May" is not enough. If there's not enough evidence then the call on the field stands. There's no "despite," it's how that works.
They didn't call offsides on the field, so stop complaining, it wasn't clear and obvious, phili lost because they didn't create enough chances, plain and simple.
