It was an absolute cracker at Tolka Park as St Patrick’s Athletic’s Al-Amin Kazeem scored an 88th minute winner to snatch all three points for the visitors & extend leaders Shels’ winless streak in the league to four matches.

  1. Re St Pats i think Stephen Kenny has done a great job to get the St Pats team playing with great confidence and flair.
A great game, and a great result for the Inchicore team.

  2. Last 10/12 games by Pats is the best form any team in the league has produced this season. If there were an extra 4 or 5 games left they would be favourites but as it is they will probably end up 2 or 3 points short. Shels seem to have hit the wall completely wouldn't be surprised if Rovers scraped it now but it's genuinely impossible to call. Whover loses out can't be whingeing anyway they have all had enough chances and shat the bed.

  3. While the game was very good, lets not kid ourselves as this tlyears league has been the worst standard i've ever seen watching league of Irekand football for 30+ years. To think a club with only 1 win in 9 games are still top of the league shows how rubbish it has been. Most other leagues that would be relegation form. Yet here Shels as poor as they have been remain on top. Shamrock Rovers have been useless. Derry cant put a run together. If Kenny was at Pats start of year they'd have the league wrapped up by the looks of things.

  4. The second goal for Pats is atrocious from a Shelbourne point of view. Cracking effort from the guys own half too, would have been an outrageous goal.

  5. I'm glad Pats came out on top, gowan the Saints, but what a game. It had everything, a great showcase for the League. Silly sending off at the end, there is no need for that stupidity

  6. St Pats never relegated since joining the top tier of Irish football in the 1950s. A club which encapsulates the local community. The passion tonight reminded me of watching the English Premier league in the 1990s. When football was pure and full of characters. Tonight we had goals, drama and passion. A proper game of football. The clubs and players have made this no thanks to the corrupt FAI. In some ways I prefer it this way, not to grow and keep it as it is for the real fans.
