Bodø/Glimt have emerged as the cinderella story in the UEFA Champions League in 2025/26, and took a 3-0 lead into the Round of 16 second leg at Sporting CP. Sporting, however, were able to mount the comeback, forcing extra time after a 3-0 lead in the second leg thanks to Inácio, Pote, and Luis Suárez. The Portuguese side grabbed two goals in extra time to complete the comeback thanks to Araújo and Nel, securing their spot in the next round where they will face Arsenal.

Great win, but football has a problem. Under the pandemic there were excellent games, as the noise level made it possible to play professional football and enjoy watching it. Football needs to learn from tennis.
The fairy tale continue, but for Sporting club of Portugal in conquest of the champions League for the first time in history of the club!
Sport Lisboa and Benfica-two time champion of the Europe
Football club of Porto-two time champion of the Europe
You must believe in my wonderful SPORTING because their're MAGIC 💚💚💚 and by the away I live in Porto😂
Look, B/G is from a fishing village north of the polar circle with domestic players who don't even make the national team. That they came to the semis in Europa League and in the round of sixteen in UCL is beyond absurdity. Sporting separated fairy tale from reality. Fair play to them.
THIS WAS CRAZY!!!
Whatever happens next round, scp has done magnificent and brought in money for the club.
I mean they are big, but bit elite. They have a very slim chance to go farther, think they've played arsenal a couple times in last few years, can't see them doing it. But I did say they'd beat body glint, people just to enamoured with the fairy tale
I told everyone sporting would win. Everyone to enamoured with fairy tale. Weird that the odd guy knew it
Sporting till the end, nuuuuuu baaaaaai 💚🤍💚🤍💚🤍
This match isn’t representative of Bodø/Glimt at all. People seem to forget that they’re out of season, and that makes a huge difference at this level. At some point, their incredible European run had to hit a wall — and unfortunately, it happened last night. They never really got started with their own play in this match, and from the first minute, Sporting came out flying.
It’s hard to protect a 3–0 lead away from home, especially in a stadium like that, against a team with quality and confidence. When they came charging and you’re under pressure from the first second, any hesitation or tiredness gets punished quickly. Sporting were sharper, more physical, and had match rhythm. Glimt looked flat and half a step behind, both physically and mentally. It was not because they’ve suddenly become bad, but simply because their bodies aren’t at competitive level right now. You could see the lack of match rhythm compared to a team deep into their season.
Another detail that people overlook is that Glimt essentially have a core of 11 players who’ve played every single Champions League game this season. No other team in the competition relies so heavily on the same lineup. Fatigue doesn’t just “appear”, it builds up over months, especially when you’re playing out of sync with your domestic season.
In that sense, this collapse wasn’t about a lack of quality or courage; it was about timing, fatigue, and circumstance. This doesn’t erase what Bodø/Glimt have achieved. They’ve proven they belong among Europe’s strong sides and can challenge elite clubs — but this game was a reminder how fine the margins are when you’re competing at the very top while out of season and that timing and momentum matter just as much as talent.
Estes gajos são comprados…bodo é fixe…mas o Sporting foi no final melhor
Like one element of technical staff said (Neto, former profissional SPORTING player) "We, SPORTING, know the best BØDO, but BØDO don't know the best SPORTING".
And believe me… SPORTING can do better. Much better 🦁 💚
We're waiting for you, Gyokeres!
It's what's inside players brains during games that decide games. That's why there's advantage to play at home. You get crowd support which boosts players brains. Otherwise it would be exactly the same thing play home or away. Bodo, just like all teams that were in their shoes in the past, always fold when they are in the eminence of greatness and reaching never before levels and their brains have to cope with something new they never faced before. It's habituation to these high levels that makes a player be relaxed and perform. That's why Bodo was trashed, why Sporting will not get past Arsenal, and why Arsenal will not win the CL.
SPORTING 💚🤍💚
I think their performances have been consistent enough for years for Bodo/Glimt to be able to go on runs for years to come.
They might have difficult roads to the Champions League, so they might not get in next year, but they reached the quarterfinals in the conference League 21/22, playoffs to round of 16 23/24, semifinals in the Europa League 24/25, Champions League Round of 16 25/26. So they have reached the knockout stages in a European tournament every year since 21/22, and their gameplay isn’t reliant on one player. If they keep Patrick Berg they can go on a deep run next year as well, in at least one European competition.
If they lose Berg, he will not be easily replaced, but they have a system to do it.
Sporting did have like 5 players missing from the first leg. Either through suspension or injury
Why they use a picture of beloved Porto city and the Douro river being based in the u.s? Use the bloody grand canyon or the Mexico wall .leave us alone 😁✌️
Blablablabla… in Norway was our 3d game in 5 days (one Porto at home n Braga away, both decisive for us). This time we have a regular week to rest the team n show them how it is…
We boss lisbon we boss portugal we boss porto…its Sporting Club de Portugal
Amazing performance from sporting de Lisboa
Bodo is this year Champions league under dog ,but dont forget Sporting beat PSG that is probably the best team In world football,In a good day Sporting can win any team
It does not happen often, but sometimes a team gets completely destroyed. I have never seen a worse football team in recent history.Major props to sporting for annihilating B/G. B/G did not even look like the same team that played for fun the other games.
What the hell does a porto shirt doing in these vídeo
Imagine talking about Arsenal's against Leverkusen game and using the Beetham Tower (Hilton Tower) as background… Lovely
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree(Alvalade)?
They strung up a man
They say who murdered three(Kairat, Marselha, Brugge, PSG, Bodo)
Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be
If we met at midnight in the hanging tree
Remember once upon a time when sporting knocked out arsenal? I remember it very well!
ALL CREDIT TO RUI BORGES!! nothing else needs to be added to that. Everyone is sleeping on Sporting Clube de Portugal, for some reason and I don't know why. Sporting was a sleeping giant for a few decades, but now we have been showing up. Smashing and beating great, massive teams. Why not hold our Sporting to a greater regard?
Also – WHY a photo of the city of Porto? did FC Porto play the CL today?? 😒😒🤣😂
The big moment struck Bodø Glimt, they didn't look like themselves. Congratulation to Sporting 🎉
Always underrated…Sporting Lisbon keeps adding the wins and keeps getting forgotten 🤣👍🏾 ask Arsenal last time how went 😈💪🏾
SPOOOOOOORTTIIIIIIINGGGGGG
So no one‘s gonna talk about how well Sporting played the high press… one team showed up and put on a master class. The other team looked like they were dead in the water…
CBS definitely need to hire new pundits.
Hahaha no credibility here, saw these guys before the match they didn’t talk about sporting at all it was all about bodo glimt and how great they are and still at the end they just talk about the team that lost and to make it worse they show a picture of Porto while talking about sporting which is from Lisbon. Seriously guys??!!!
Ao intervalo o Sporting já podia estar qualificado. Fez um grande jogo !. Grande o clube da minha cidade (Lisboa) – mas o nome é sporting c. de Portugal.
I saw before this match ALL cbs golazo team putting bodo to reach the next phase… With this 5-0 result today, the sportinguistas and Portugal send a big kiss to all of you ☺️
Real remontada
Why are you using a picture of Porto in the background when Sporting is from Lisbon?
Great analysis, earned yourself a sub, SPORTINGGG!!!!💚💚
big field warm weather = cant play hahaha
For once Sporting is getting its attention it deserves
I'm glad they didn't put a pic. of some place of Spain.
It does not happen every time. But when it does its absolutely brilliant. Sporting Clube de Portugal was amazing.
Nice to hear the compliments in regards to Sporting! We also beat PSG, Bilbao away, Marseille, Brugge etc. Sporting didn’t let Bodo play today, if we did it would be a different result
Wow actual football analysis with actual knowledge of clubs outside the big money teams, respect … subscribed 👍🏼🫡
Bodø was day and night compared to last several games. Your American has no idea why. I can suggest a couple of explanations. Sporting actually used same style of play as Bodø. So whatever tactical edge they had against some of the other teams was gone. But most importantly they looked slow and stiff.
These 2 things I will explain by one fact. They played a Norwegian League match a few days ago. So much less time for recovery and prep. But worst is the difference in tempo. After the fast pace playing against only top euro teams for months, they got pulled down to Norwegian pre season level.
Viva o SPORTING CLUBE DE PORTUGAL
Incredibly disgusting the lack of tact to have a super wrong background, and then the idiotic conversation by guys who can't say anything with one pinch of content and original thoughts if their life was on the line, looks like a remake of sesame street. Muppets…
