Better to be lucky than smart! Let the ball go in, you're only up by one goal but you have 11 men on the pitch to defend for almost 30 minutes remaining. Do what he did, and more often than not the penalty is scored, and you're no better off but needlessly down a man, with lots of time still on the clock. Yes, it puts more psychological pressure than normal on the penalty taker, but it was a lucky bet, not a smart one.

There's alot of rules in football that are dumb and if you swat the ball when it's 100% going in, it's not an automatic goal??? That is beyond stupid. Red card and automatic goal, end of.
